I just got an email from a recruiter from Google!
Omgomgomgomg
He said that the position is in the Bay Area or New York. I haven’t replied the email. I don’t think we can move to those cities, but I don’t want to lose this opportunity. Does anyone know if Google does remote jobs within US?

Hi I’m looking to transition into a PMM role, from advertising. Very similar to the above - long hours, low pay. Any tips on how to break in? Or certs?
Hi I work in construction and my partner works as a tech PM (Manager) in big 4.
When we talk about work I think I noticed major difference between construction and tech programme is waterfall and agile respectively. So maybe learning the agile model will help. He also mentioned that most of the time he has no understanding of what his analysts are doing, he only knows who to speak to, what they need to do, when, and whether the data submitted are correct. I find it hard to understand because a good PM in construction will need to know what people are doing to manage the outcome, so be prepared to have a change of mindset of project management.
As a manager, in general he finishes at 7-8pm. His projects are in sprints, so when he is approaching the end of sprints / project go live, he works very long hours too. On one go live, he worked 48 hours straight overall the weekend. While construction is slow burn - constant early mornings and mid-late evenings. His analysts work way longer hours than him..
If the issue is work life balance, maybe consider changing the company or role to client side, programme management or PMO? Change of mentality also helps - is there a chance that your husband is a perfectionist? I joined a coaching session once and found out me being a stickler / perfectionist is my biggest saboteur and is probably the reason why I work long hours!
