My husband lives in my apartment in Texas. He is not on my lease and does not contribute to any expenses for the house , myself, or my one year old baby. He has been misbehaving, harassing and refusing to pay. I asked him to leave but he claims to be resident by law of texas. I was able to get the apartment security and cops involved but getting into some obstacles. Can anyone with a legal background help answer some questions?
Highly stressed and really need help. I will be very grateful.

This sounds potentially dangerous, can you leave? Or get a restraining order?

No expert but will say TX has some crazy housing laws based on residency, so he is likely right. We had a whole drama when my grandfather passed away and his gf moved in and law said we couldn't sell

Get a lawyer asap and please move out for your and the baby’s safety.

I’m really happy being gf&bf with my significant other - I’m 41 and I don’t want kids and I am not desperately seeking marriage. I’m really happy with just this & my job. I think it weirds his immigrant family out a lot. His mother apparently was very cold/rude to his ex-gf (I found this out bc I asked) and his sister is very cold and has a very judgmental attitude about women that don’t wanna be a wife & have kids (just like her.) I wanna avoid holidays at their place - any advice?

LO is 16 months old, very sweet and social, at the park every day with other kids with either me or her nanny. Not in day care. Yesterday we had a play date and she slapped another baby on the head. Not hard and did not scare her, but the act of “aggression” took me by surprise and I felt terrible about it. Hi everyone - I’m relatively new to Dallas and starting my home search. It’s me + wife + baby with hopes of at least 1 more in the future. Can someone give me some ideas as to which neighborhoods are friendly for young parents / working professionals? Any inputs on Richardson, Carrollton, Far North? Areas to avoid? Other areas worth exploring that are not too far north? We’re trying to stay close to the North Dallas tollway / turnpike for work. Thank you!

Suppose you are 3 months pregnant and interviewing for a job. Would you disclose to the recruiter that you are expecting or is there no need to give that information until after being hired? As for the compensation, if you’ve already been told pre-interview, the salary range for the role, is it appropriate to negotiate a number for the salary if you are asked your desired salary in the first screening interview? Or should you try to hold off on the negotiation after you receive an offer?

Hi All,

I am 12 yoe, working at a very stable product based organisation (not NEC).
But I want to switch to a better role & compensation.

I got an offer from Thoughtworks GGN as a lead consultant. Being a mother, I have anxiety about joining TW, since it is service based.

1. Bcoz of the recession and hiring is not for specific project, is it the right time to join TW or is it risky w.r.t job security?
2. How flexible is TW for WFH or it depends on the client?
3. How is WLB?

Please help..

Just wanted to share this with people who would understand. Had 4 IEP meetings last week. When the case manager asked one mother if she had any concerns she said her only concern was that her kindergarten son with autism loved me so much she was afraid of him being promoted and being out of my room. I told her not to worry, in our program I will have him for 2 more years. Boy that made me feel good.

So here is my dilemma:
- based in the UK
- opportunity for lateral internal move (culture&engagement) or stay where I am (reward). I am mid level IC struggling to progress due to flat structure so considering lateral move then hopefully up from there.
- 2 primary aged children, currently have flexibility in current/new role too
- Husband just got accepted on a international rotation which means I will be single parent for the short term.

What to do? Go with the unknown or coast comfortably?

My parent is sick with dementia. I can tolerate high level of stress when I'm called names, sent to h... etc.. but I keep everything inside. It's been that way for a long while now. Today my cup of tolerance has overflown when I was giving my parent a bath. I was so angry that I was shaken and I forced my parent to bath... I yelled and said things I would never say otherwise. I know I'm wrong and it's a disease, but I just couldn't help it... now.. the work time comes... I couldn't concentrate... tears just flowing from my eyes. Which I totally deserve. I'm glad I was working from home today. It got to the point that I just don't want to see that anymore... I just don't want to wake up. I just want to escape of my thoughts and my feelings...

I was in a position of leadership before being demoted earlier this year. It wasn’t called that, but I was given a different role and they hired someone to take my spot. My boss has since expressed regret for this decision calling it hasty on his end

I had access to all the things I was managing for months into my new role and discovered when they hired 5 new entry level positions, all got 45k (women) except one, who got a 60k (1man). The 60k man works on my team and is sort of awful.
