Cardigans in general are not loungewear. Is your husband fashionable? I would never take fashion advice from my fiancé
I really like my sweater blazer from JCrew it’s as comfortable as a cardigan but a bit more structured and put together imo
I have the black one and I love it
“Thinks” =/= knowledge or expertise
Cardigans are fine if they fit properly and are dressed up with slacks/skirt and nice shoes.
They are also awesome as lounge wear when worn with leggings/sweatpants and slippers. Damn versatile item.
I feel like cable knit is a bit more casual, but that's just my impression.
So mumsy and boring. Don’t own a single one. When I see one I think about how painfully boring they are. I’m talking only about the classic librarian with pearly white plastic buttons. Don’t at me!
Librarian chic is kind of on trend right now anyway
You know your client’s office dress/culture best and if it’s on the casual side go for it. Perhaps don’t wear it on dates with your husband since he’s not a fan lol.
I swap out of blazers to cardigans when I’m not in a big meeting or kickoff- they’re perfectly professional and work fine at the “day to day” at the client. I have some of those knit oversized cardigans that I reserve for weekends or casual days at home office, but as long as they have a nice fabric and a little bit of structure they look perfectly professional in my opinion.
I wear turtlenecks and tailored cardigans every day with pencil skirts or slacks. Not to the interviews, but to all other business and client meetings - formal or casual, with C levels or whatever. Never in 15 years anyone said anything.
I like Peruvian connection, they are expensive, but look great
If it’s fitted or structured, ok for more casual days; the knitted and slouchy ones don’t look very put together in my opinion. My husband gives me constructive feedback sometimes and I appreciate it, wouldn’t want to wear something that he finds unattractive even if it’s none of his business :) (sort of)
Can you share a link to what the cardigan looks like?
I like it and would wear it to client (depending on client and situation). Where did you get it?
I am 100% a cardigan person as well. Definitely not loungewear.
Thank you all!
Sweater blazers are a main staple in my wardrobe, and a great way to look professional...and be super comfortable. I have this in 5 colors
