Really? I feel like I'm surrounded by impostors.

Try getting to know your colleagues outside of work and you'll realize everyone is faking it.

Talked to a manager today who said he's spent the last 8 years at the firm under the assumption that he could be fired any day. I have no idea how he's still standing

It depends on personality. If you are cautious about what you set out to do and like perfection, consulting may not be for you.

It gets better OP. Hang in there!

Fake it till yah make it. I felt the same way, but am slowly becoming more confident within my role / the firm. It also takes time, bc you're so replaceable early on and everyone knows it, including yourself. Once a year or two pass, you feel more of an insider

Signs I’m getting old: I tripped and fell, and somehow partially tore my ACL. Have to figure out if I want surgery, and how to tell the team—at the very least, I’ll need a ton of PT. I’m a first year associate and the only woman on all of my teams, so I’m freaking out about how this is going to reflect on me. I know I’m overthinking this, health comes first, etc…but I’m still so scared to tell people.

Am I being dumb here - just purchased a fridge from Lowes, delivery next week. Just found out through company perks that I could get it from a different retailer for $600 less but it is back ordered meaning it could be weeks or months until I get the fridge…. I am leaning toward keeping my order with Lowes … current fridge works, it is just old and shelves / ice maker is broken.

How do you evaluate the financial health/viability of a startup you’re interviewing with? Are there specific questions you ask and/or external research you do? A company I’m interviewing with offers equity, and they say they anticipate going IPO or being bought out by a larger company in the industry. I know any company will put its best foot forward during interviews, so I’m trying to figure out to accurately evaluate those statements.

Hi all,

I just came to realise
Deutsche Bank has a fixed rule of max 30 to 35 % hike on fixed component and remaining 10 to 15% variable i.e. total 50% max hike you can ask for no matter how good, skilled you are.

Is it true?

(I got to know this when an HR called me for a Frontend developer role)

As soon as I opened the door, in a rude voice he says, come back in 30 min. I said, I’m sorry I cant which was true. Not only was I in a time crunch
