My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered. For the interim, I’ve been looking for a remote opportunity where I can leverage my skills in marketing, sales, social media, and elsewhere for a decent sum. I have a social media presence which, in recent years, reached millions. There has to be something exciting I can do.

Anyone else getting hit with crazy requests lately that are beyond absurdity with scheduling or budget (even both)? In the same week I have been asked to do a remote docu shoot with real people for under 10k, an animated spot for tv in two weeks without a descent budget for the ask and a photo shoot for under 15k where the talent usage is in perpetuity and it’s only Wednesday!!!

I need a side job that I can work evenings and/or weekends that can generate at least $1000 extra dollars a month. I was thinking real estate but I know nothing about it… then I thought bartending but again, I know nothing about it… I don’t want to spend more than 20 hours per week working this side job and if it is remote AND contract, that would be great. Any advice?

What is your company’s WFH approach going to be once people start to return to the office? Are you going back full-time or is it going to be a 3/2 or 2/3 WFH/in-office hybrid? Something else? We have recently been told that our CEO wants everyone back, every day. This seems to be short-sighted and anti-competitive from a talent retention and acquisition perspective. Curious to hear what other people are doing.

My firm has been WFH since March. Some attorneys started going back in to the office a few times per week. I don’t feel comfortable going back yet and to be honest I really enjoy WFH. It’s convenient, it saves time getting ready (I’m a woman so I save an hour in the morning not doing hair/makeup), commuting, lunch, etc. Once people are getting vaccinated and the partners start requiring us to come in to the office again, how do I express that I would prefer to continue WFH?

Hi, I started in a new company (big tech giant) as a recruiter a month ago, and everyone says to ask for help which I did occasionally when I started, but now as I'm getting more work done I realize I need more guidance. Onboarding totally remote is very different. Does anyone have similar experience, should I reach out to my colleagues even if I've been at the company for more than a month?

I have just over 3 years of experience (2.5 as an Analyst and .5 as a software engineer) and all doing .Net coding. I live in the Denver area, and work remote. What salary is everyone getting for that kind of position? I make 97,000 with a 10% profit sharing bonus (up to 10%). I've also only been with my company under 6 months and got a raise when I got my current job. Any thoughts?

I am a corporate recruiter for a Fortune 500 company. Growing very quickly. They aren’t as competitive in pay but a ton of opportunity to grow and love it and stress is super low. There isn’t a lot of flexibility. We are coming in the office everyday. There is another well known tech company that just went public is offering 15k more with work from home and is a technical sourcer role. Thoughts?
