Hi Fishes, Can Anyone please tell, one of my friend joined Tech M in August, At the time of joining she was 3 months pregnant and now shes worrying about her manager. She wants to inform them about her pregnancy; is it right time to inform? Or she needs to wait for 6 more months for that to inform? Anyone please clearify.. Lots of flu out there, one of my kids sounds like that and just tested positive for flu b
SC1 huh? I was asking legitimately, since you said you were a provider. Would like I know more about your experience
Pediatric hospitals are not overwhelmed. You need to call and discuss real medical advice from your child’s physician. Fevers can be dangerous in children. source: My husband is a Pediatric Intensive Care physician.
Not going to the hospital since they’d just send us home. No capacity or enough testing. Anyway I made my point.
Did you call hospitals to ask? There should be more testing kits available now. Good luck to you and your family
Uh go to the hospital? I’m sure the CDC would love to be able to track spread as best as possible + you’re risking lung scarring for your child
Call them first, describe symptoms, and ask for next steps. Advocate for your child if symptoms are extremely bad.
Hoping you guys a speedy recovery!
How can we help?
Wouldn’t you want to test them for the flu? As there are antivirals that can help with recovery if it’s that?
Thinking of OP and others with unwell loved ones, I’m so sorry and I hope everyone recovers quickly!
I called his pediatrician this morning they confirmed my plan of action
Take care and wishing a speedy recovery! You’re a great parent
Sorry to hear I hope he gets better soon. How are you and your family feeling? They say children are more tolerant to the virus than adults.
Wishing that he gets better soon
I think I’ve seen a lot of talk regarding how kids are being spared from covid (just for your reassurance sake op!). i hope it’s something else for you
If his fever goes above 103 and I can’t get it down.. or he seems like he can’t breathe, I’ll take him infor sure. Just like I would the flu or other illnesses.
I agree kids are being spared which also helps me feel comfortable with this decision. And trust me my alarm is set every 30 mins to check on him.
His school is already closed but I have informed them.
Op
Please do. I may run out and snag some just in case for you. I am serious don’t be shy I don’t have kids
Both my kids had a fever and dry cough for 7-9 days, 2 weeks apart. My sons fever hit 105.8 overnight, he went directly into a luke warm bath and it dropped immediately. I alternated motrin and Tylenol but Tylenol seemed to work best. Both are fully recovered but did have a cough for 7-10 days after the fever broke. I didn’t take my kids in either for the same reasons you’ve stated. Watch that overnight fever spike though.
Also as an aside, it was confirmed we had a case in our office on a day I was there too. Again reaffirming asymptomatic transmission
I had light symptom (sniffling and a sore throat) one day..
there is no one else in the household
Did your colleague test positive for cv19?
I didn’t mean that to be silly or rude. I asked simply because I know so many friends with children who have tested positive for Flu B.
So sorry OP. Wishing your family all the best.
Prayers for a speedy recovery.
