My lease is up soon. I’m thinking of not resigning and just moving around to different cities (4 months somewhere, 4 months somewhere else) for a little bit. Project is remote at this time. Is this stupid?

Put your possessions in storage and then go rent out some long term Air bnb's. Sounds like a great experience!

That’s what I’m doing now it’s pretty awesome

What cities or places have you been living?

I did this too. I put all of my furniture in storage and lived out of two suitcases for a year. I hopped between airbnbs across the country. 10/10 recommend. Pro tip: if you book close to last minute, you will have a lot of leverage when negotiating price. I would find available properties and message the host 5-7 days out and offer to take the apartment for the full next month (which at that point, was likely sit empty save a few last-minute weekend bookings). They’d much rather take a guaranteed month than have a chance at getting a few bookings with a higher nightly rate :)

I normally live on the east coast so I spent a lot of time out west. My favorite area was SoCal - did a month in Santa Monica and a month in Palm Springs. I just loved that you have beaches, hiking, ski/snowboard, and desert all within a 1-2hr drive.

Awesome idea and you definitely should do it. Wish i can do it before getting married.

Not stupid do it! Would be a great experience. You get to meet new people, see new things. Any idea where you would do this?

Also doing this now. Check out long term Air BnB or VRBO rentals. Your money can go a lot further with a roommate

Moving is expensive but if you make it work for you then sounds like a cool experience. I feel like it takes 6mo to get comfortable somewhere tho

Great idea. Go for it. You’ll meet so many other digital nomads

How would you do this though since most places require a minimum 6 to 9 month lease??

There’s a lot that do month to month. Also Airbnb

Check out Hello Landing. Let me know if you’d like a referral code.

Will I ruin my career if I let my boss know that my coworker in a group project hasn't been doing his assigned work? Just started this new job and the cowork started a few months before me. With the deadline approaching, the only way to meet it is I work on the whole thing now. In this case, should I let my boss know?

I'm still wondering why the commercial real estate sector hasn't collapsed. Two years in it's clear WFH is here to stay-at most I could see some companies implementing a hybrid schedule. Regardless, the real estate footprint will be much smaller. Are building owners just trying to keep up appearances by maintaining high rents? It doesn't make sense to me.

I I’ve been working remote full-time since March 2020. I’ve hired people remotely. Ive sold shit to clients remotely. I’ve done good work that I’m really proud of remotely. I think I figured out the work from home/remote thing pretty well. I’m starting a new job on Monday that is also fully remote and I’m kind of terrified. Have no idea what it’s gonna be like to start a job this way. Any advice?
