Need an advice, even though I’m an HR. So, I’m unemployed at the moment and want to start looking for a new job. I negotiated my way out for several reasons 1) My boss was not comfortable doing diversity initiative insisting that all lives matter and we’re meritocracy based business 2) I was responsible for 33 countries, which was very demanding in a time of Covid, as I had to be on most crisis committees directly or as as oversight, and at the same time I have a child on spectrum, and with the
25 and convinced I have adhd. I have an appointment set up but interested to hear from anyone who was diagnosed later in life (vs as a kid) and if you took meds
Scratching my head to look for a meaningful gift for dad’s (father in law’s) 60th birthday. He is in India and so figuring out how can me and my husband make it special for him amidst covid. Last resort is buying something online - any suggestions here would help too! I know a lot of you might say it depends on what he likes etc..but even if you can just share your ideas...any ideas, that’ll be much appreciated! TIA!!
Hey PwC time to step up your parental leave...
It’s so frustrating that we females can experience a variety of symptoms which at a certain age could accurately indicate that you’re either getting your period, pregnant, or starting menopause.
I work with several people with kids and I have noticed quite often that they completely disregard any issues of people with no kids and try to one up work life imbalance conversations with stories of them being parents. It must be hard being a parent but I don’t think people at work should be treated differently or given any additional consideration just because they have a kid. You already get parental leave so If I’m expected to work 12hr I ask the same to be expected from my peers with kids.
Need counsel: Left advertising to go client side last year. Working at a huge company isn’t for me long-term but the money is great, I have more balance and actually raised my kids this year. I have the opportunity to be a c-suite leader at a very small agency on the rise. Super confused. Money will be less, long-term opportunity will be more. Also thinking about having another kid soonish.
Ok y’all - just found out I am pregnant (~8 wks) which explains the nausea and exhaustion. How did y’all make it through meetings? Especially limiting caffeine intake. Dying over here!
How long do you have to be at your company to qualify for their maternity / paternity leave policy?
For Baby #2, do you feel like the first six weeks were easier than with Baby #1 simply because you better understood what you were dealing with? And that the crazy no-sleep period *does* end?
My husband and I are trying to have a second child and have been trying for over a year. I recently was referred to a fertility doctor and after many tests found out I don’t have much time (I’m 36). The doctors say all I can really do is live a healthy lifestyle (which I do anyways). Any tips or advice from moms that battled infertility? I’m trying to stay positive but it can be so hard sometimes.
Hi Ladies - Trying to decide when to officially go on leave. I was thinking two weeks before I’m due but everyone keeps telling me to work up until the due date to have more time at the end with the baby. I’m honestly just tired of working and barely get any sleep at this point. Wouldn’t mind having some me time (I have 5 months leave) but also realize the baby could come early. Let me know your thoughts!
Anybody’s mom and husband don’t get along? Lol running out of ideas to have them get along. I have a newborn and my mum is here to help with him, and she and my husband don’t get along. Love my husband, he’s great and very helpful with the baby and for me as well in terms of emotional support (postpartum has been harder on me than I thought) but he and mum don’t see eye to eye. Some points of difference- mum is super religious whereas he’s atheist etc etc
Do you pass the rat race onto your child? Do you feel like you have to grind to get your child the best resources, schools, etc?
Hello! A senior associate that I work for is expecting and she will be going on parental leave soon. She has been a great mentor to me and so I wanted to get/send her a gift congratulating her on the new baby once she goes on her leave. Any ideas for a gift? (We aren’t incredibly close so it doesn’t seem as easy as shopping for a friend/family member who just had a baby, if that makes sense) TIA!
Gonna get baby's heartbeat tattooed
Anyone know when the maternity leave policy kicks in at Tableau, now a part of Salesforce? Do you have to be there a year?

13 weeks pregnant. Today I’ve been having a dull ache concentrated on the left side of my lower abdomen. It’s not super painful but it’s noticeable. Kind of like a dull headache but on my abdomen. Not crampy. I’ll call my dr tomorrow but in the meantime, anyone experience anything similar?
After getting laid off 2 weeks ago, I fired off about 20 resumes to different places. I have not received any feedback at all. Any ideas how to get past the computer and in front of someone?
Company 1 offering me 115k plus 20k of equity. Company 2 offering 135 base. Both have potential bonus. I like the people and company more of number 1, how can I negotiate for more? Company 2 offer to only come in next week and 135 is their number

Mid level AD in NY. Just started freelancing. I'd like to make about $70/hour. Do I ask for $80? If they ask my day rate, does that calculate to $700/day? Does day rate = 8 hours? Or could it be 12?
Thoughts on this?
I specifically told this company I wasn’t available to interview this Thursday. Gave them a bunch of other dates and time slots (they asked for multiple). And guess what they did? Scheduled my interview for this Thursday 😂😂 I hate job searching
I missed my interview and recruiter is not replying to me anymore. My interview was rescheduled but I forgot to change according ly in my calendar so I thought the interview would be at the old slot. I missed the interview with the principal. What should I do?

How do you all handle tantrums from your toddler during dinner? We finally made it out to have a socially distanced dinner with a female friend of my husband. My toddler started getting really fussy during dinner and my spouse continued his conversation -not wanting to leave. I took the baby on a brief walk but that wasn’t really helping. Spouse still did not want to cut dinner short (we were already on dessert) and he kept his conversation going. I sat down and baby is grabbing plates (cont)
Need your help please. Currently working on a VP promotion internally and going to speak w/ HR next week to negotiate comp. I’m also interviewing with a competitor but not yet at the comp discussion yet. How can I tactically approach my conversation with internal HR to maximize my number? Would appreciate your insight/experiences please. Thank you in advance!
Breastfeeding on a zoom call. Yay or nay? Was awkward in the call today. With webcam on. No one said anything but can tell from the faces the bewilderment. 5 people call. 3 women and 2 men. Kept up to point and wrapped the call quickly. I am one of the males btw.
Any thoughts on a Creative Lead position at Facebook/Instagram NYC? Has anyone here worked there and/or have some insight on how it’s like?
Currently working in tax consulting at a big4 considering making the switch to strat consulting since I have internship experience at an MBB or move to a stratops/ bizops role in tech. For context I have 2-3 years work experience and my goal is to have a somewhat decent WLB with an interesting team. Should I go through the process with strat consulting firms or directly look into stratops?
