At a past gig, I learned my male colleagues with less experience were making significantly more than me, so I feel your frustration. I would have a conversation with your boss or your boss’ boss about this discrepancy. Don’t base your case on his poor performance but moreso about advocating for pay equity. Do your research on what other people with your title and experience are making and use that as the basis for what you want to ask for…your partner could be in that range, or he might be underpaid by industry standards as well. And remember: you have a legal right to discuss salaries with your colleagues, so don’t let your boss or job try to pull the wool over your eyes. Best of luck to you. ❤️

Go for it! Never be scared to ask for your worth. If you’ve noticed the discrepancy the likelihood is so has he and other members of staff.

Do your research and ask for what you think you are worth! If a company is relatively serious about equal pay they will try to keep compensation for partners generally the same. In your case it sounds like it might be worth negotiating based on your own merit and accomplishments. Good luck!

Ask for more than what he makes?

Hope you get more responses-- in a similar boat, except my art director is the problem but pretty sure he won't get the boot because I've been able to cover mostly. It's so draining.

Hello fishes. I'm a MBA graduate currently working as a digital marketing professional in a mid size consulting firm with 3 years of experience. I am terribly underpaid in my current org at 5.5 LPA after a recent promotion and annual appraisal. Another mid size consulting firm offered me 7.5 LPA but I am asking them around 9 LPA. Am I asking too much or shall I take the offer of 7.5 LPA

Does BNP APAC does background verification before sending offer letter or after sending the offer letter? I have not been asked about the educational certificates yet. They have only asked the PAN, PASSPORT and Current employer salalry slips and promotion letter. P.s - I have recieved the offer letter now. Will they be still doing any background verification or this is done ?

Does it look bad to leave a role before you are promoted? Been in industry for almost 2.5 years and not made senior. I don’t particularly care for the director of my team and feel like I’m getting pigeon holed. I want to move on but worried it’s a red flag since I’ve been here so long without promotion.

An opportunity has risen that I will be getting a promotion from Manager to Director. I am a senior employee and historically have gotten anywhere from 5.5% - 10% raises in the past. What would be an appropriate promotion to director percentage raise? I am happy where I work and don’t want to go anywhere, but also want to be respected in a role with more responsibilities.

Advice: If you had kids while in consulting. When did you have them?age and position at firm. Would you wait longer or have them earlier if you could do it again? I am in my early 30's but I am starting my 2nd year post MBA now, so thinking about waiting until I get the SM promotion (waiting 2 years). However also worried with fertility decrease and being an older mom. To make decision harder I do not have a partner and would do it on my own.

Happy to have just received my promotion to senior manager after a very challenging year, backed by an even more challenging year prior. I've got my own beliefs what a senior manager does, or should do. I'm keen to hear transition challenges others have gone through when becoming a senior manager.

Been a customer success manager at a tech org for about a year and was just given a promotion that’s $21k lower than what we’re hiring new folks (albeit with 2 years of experience) for. What are your views on promotions — should they ALWAYS be driven by the employee (“I want a promotion. How do I make this happen?”) vs. the manager (“I think you’re ready to grow into a new role”)? I recently got a new manager who aligns with my career interests, but both of us are still under my previous manager who treats people as resources. I’m bitter about the upward progress of peers on other teams (w/ better managers), a combo of FOMO + feeling like I’ve failed myself.

I’m applying for promotion from PDM analyst to senior analyst then switching to core consulting. My coach, and SM’s are on board and are ready to advocate for me. I’m currently at 69k in GPS. What can I expect for a raise to senior analyst? Any input would be helpful. TIA!

I switched 2 companies and respectively I had 2 PF accounts. And the amount from all of these accounts is successfully transferred to my current PF account. But the problem is, in one of my previous PF account there is still some amount remaining. Seems like it got added post I raised my tra sfer request. As online I guess we can only raise a single request for amount transfer to current PF account which I already did. Can someon please help me with the to transfer that remaining amount. TIA

I know there are fast track promotion but those are just 4-5% cases and that too depends on Market. Except few cases, a Con is already performing like SC in their milestone year. Now the next default milestone year is set after 4 year for next level promotion. What is the motivation factor to remain in firm when you already know you won't grow for 4 years? Please genuine answers only.
