My manager and I were discussing this past week how we can both improve things this upcoming busy season and little does she know that I was just made an offer and I will officially resigning next week. She won't be a happy for sure. She is a great manager but I am looking out for me this time around :(

This is me. I've been contemplating joining a different firm for better pay, but I know that will leave my team in a bad spot. I'm kinda torn.

People leave. That’s the nature of the job. You may be sitting there thinking about your team whilst other team members are waiting for an offer and will leave without thinking of you.

Already interviewing with the intent to leave in January. Go BIRD!

Who is #1? If I was being fired, I am sure they wouldn't blink an eye to fire me on the spot. At least I am giving them the "courtesy" of 2 weeks notice.

Don't feel bad for looking out for yourself. They will be fine. She may be upset but that has nothing to you.

The higher you move up in PA, the more you’ve seen. I’m sure your manager will be fine, this is the nature of PA, managers and above have seen enough but the firm and the engagement will go on as they are.

I am sure they will be fine. You have to look out for #1

Why don’t you stay around for holidays? Does your new job require you to start next week?

I would put your two weeks or even 1 week notice after the holidays. That way you can get the holiday pay for when the office is closed. Look out for yourself !

It is now time to staff up for another conference and I’m welcome to return, but my direct report is being promoted to Comms Dir. they’d like to split the role somehow, but I can’t figure out how.

Are we allowed to be as obvious as possible during interviews on what clients we worked on so long as we don’t say their name? Ex: one of my clients went through a huge merger in x industry in my city, and if I were to state that in interviews it would be a dead give away. Is that okay?

As a senior, I am dealing with trying to get answers from management but those above me want to be the filter and asker of all questions with the client. That is fine, each team has a preference.

But the questions do not seem to get asked or when they do the answer isn't right. How do others deal with this issue?

Hi tax 🐠,

I have a question for those who prep individual tax returns. My parents claim my grandfather as a dependent on their tax return and due to their low income, receive PTC for the premiums they pay on his insurance (not eligible for medicare). However, would it be advantageous to have him file for his own tax return (he stays with my parents and doesn't have his own proof of residency via bills). If so, can he get PTC if his income is 0?
