Update: I casually dropped this in a conversation with my manager's manager and he got reprimanded fairly immediately (fortunately no one mentioned my name). Spent all of Monday not talking to anyone lol. No zoom calls of any kind. Yesterday I got the green light for an internal move to another team and gave notice in our morning zoom check-in, which he ended fairly abruptly. Turns out another person on our team is also leaving (not a surprise) and apparently said some spicy things to HR, and now our manager is in serious PIP talks with his boss. I'm so glad to be on my way out.

The amount of naps I’ve taken in the middle of the day since WFH, I wouldn’t last a day with this
Alarms give me a headache. I even tried the alarm on my fitbit that only vibrates. The rest of the day is ruined.
I tried taking a nap after work at 5, and I ended up disturbing my usual sleep cycle and couldn't wake up on time the next morning!

I thought I had it bad but this is next level micromanaging and totally over the top!! Does your company usually allow WFH? I’d do what someone said above about acting dumb and going to his boss to ask if this is something all teams are doing? Sure if he is busy watching everyone on a screen then he’s not doing much work himself? Is it that productivity has decreased since you all started WFH? How do your other team mates feel about it? You could take collective action and all say you feel this is very unreasonable and feel micromanaged. If you all go at him in unison he’ll be outnumbered and might then realise he’s being ridiculous!!!
It’s time to walk away and find a different place to work.
Thanks all. Can't say what company but this issue is specific to my manager who has gone off the rails with all of us wfh. He started with twice daily team stand-ups and now this. I think he's primarily concerned about a few analysts not getting their work done but doesn't know how to address it. I'll def drop this casually in discussions with his manager/other managers and kill this before it can go any further. He has stress management issues and does sometimes make irrational decisions he then needs to walk back. I've been looking to switch teams internally for awhile now and have some things in motion that hopefully won't be halted by this crisis.
