If you are starting as an Audit Associate some time from now with Deloitte or any of the big 4, do they expect you to have passed/completed all 4 parts by the time you start? Received the Becker Reimbursement email from the recruiter not too long ago but have yet to start. Iāve seen plenty of people get to Senior at a big 4 firm without the CPA so I am a bit confused in that aspect. Any helpful feedback will be very much appreciated.

Top tier advice. It aināt worth it dawg. Coming back up isnāt as easy as it was going down.
Donāt talk to someone at work.
Do contact your EAP administrator. Your employer should have that available to you. EAP can help!
And no shame in therapy!!

I want to underscore some of these comments:
- Itās ok to have feelings of overwhelm. Itās ok to be sad. And itās important to find someone you can talk with.
-See if your company has an EAP plan. Usually you can get a few therapy sessions for free.
- Find a committed listener in your life. Let them know you need to talk. And if you need advice, ask for it. But if you donāt want advice, ask them to just hold space so that you can feel heard and seen.
- Go to CPA Academy and search for my last name. You can watch two archived webinars ā one from January and another from February. I did them with a licensed psychotherapist and we offer a bevy of tips on how to manage anxiety and get a mental health support professional.ļæ¼ļæ¼ļæ¼
Simon Biles just taught us that even olympians have hard mental health days. Take care of you. Breathe. And allow others to love up on you. š

You have any peers at yo level you can vent to? I find that a very refreshing experience :)
Also, I see you are an associate, which could mean you may not have had any in-office experience yet. If Iām right, and if youāre comfortable & able I suggest trying to get in there a few times a weeks I suggest this to my staff working for me and they think this helps!
Ask yourself āIf the tears could talk, what would they say?ā Remind yourself you are safe.
If youāre scared to talk at work because of professional repercussions, is there someone you trust outside of work who could at least listen? Therapy also helps. So does taking your PTO.
Please take the time off to feel better. Your health is way more important than a job!
If you have a peer at work or someone outside of work you trust, would definitely talk to them. Peers at work may be going through something similar and will be more understanding. Try not to talk to any levels above, I have had my concerns used against me in feedback and also how was I treated after speaking up.
Can you take mental health leave? I did it last year and it was the best decision.
Another tip - delete any and all forms of social media. Shit is complete garbage for your brain.
Been free of it for 5 years (despite fishbowl relapse) and feel like Iām more focused on work, friends, family, etc. than ever. Sure I miss some birthdays but honestly who cares š
This is common.
Take a deep breathe.
I donāt know if your work gives you 1:1 sessions with a talking coach, but look into it. Take advantage of it.
BDO works with Talking Talent, and Iāve listened into Robbie Green, twice. She is amazing. Itās a group session, yet, she calms me down. I need to book 1:1 with her. She makes the little voices in my head that makes me feel guilty about the dumbest things come out and realize, these things arenāt guilty, they are common and okay. She is phenomenal.

I understand not wanting to talk to someone at work; I prefer an outside party.
I definitely recommend therapy it helps a lot to talk to a neutral third party!
