Need to recertify my AWS-SAA cert. any recommendations on best resources given the new test format (SAA-CO2)?
Is it worth it to get a professional certification like SHRM/PHR? Not many of my colleagues have one and it’s not a requirement for my role, but I’m curious if it’s worth it in the long run
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
Hi Guys I was wondering - PwC India / PwC SDC / Deloitte USI - Do they sponsor full time MBA for employees? If yes, what are the probable terms?
I have heard that McKinsey allows some BAs to move quickly to EM (although sounds like it’s fairly rare to be in 3 years?). When that does happen, do they manage post MBA associates, or just BAs?
Used to be in a quant group. We had an underperforming staff who we let go. He claimed to HR he was discriminated against bc he was an MBA. To which they responded: that's not a protected class.
Has anyone taken one of those online executive courses, like the Harvard Extension School offers? Looking to use my $5k of tuition reimbursement and already have an MBA. Worth it? Best programs?
Is FRM or CFA a better certification?
Has anybody heard of a green MBA? Does it have any value if you want to break into a sustainability-oriented field?
Big 4 FDD > MBA?
What are your thoughts on an online MBA? How much is it worth paying for an online MBA and is it likely I would see a significant return if I’m making over $100k a few years out of undergrad?
Any gov consulting firms actively hiring in dc? I have a buddy who just graduated with his MBA but didn't go through consulting recruitment. Veteran + worked on the hill. Fishbowlburnerdallas@gmail.com
There is a requirement in my team for a fresher MBA Graduate who can join immediately. Aggregate should be above 80% (CGPA > 8). Preferably familiar with or at least aware of basics of structured problem solving. Please DM or comment if you have any potential leads. Thanks, in advance.
Big4 consulting salaries: have 5 YOE in consulting, 2-3 in industry, and top 25 MBA. If I come through experienced hire route, can I still aim for the MBA salary bands around 140-170k?
Thoughts on Prosci or SHRM-SCP certification? Which would be considered more valuable or highly regarded? Currently focused on Change Management but have a HR background (industry experience / area of study in college).
Looking for a good headhunting agency in Chicago specializing in MBA placement. My friend is an international student from a mid-tier school. This political climate is not helping internationals :(
USC Marshall MBA, thoughts?
What is the promotion schedule from associate to manager? How many years in between each until you’re edible for promotion?
My son is entering Kindergarten and his (great but hamstrung) public school can only offer 60-85 minutes per day for remote learning, 3 days per MONTH in-school. Just not feasible for a working mom in this industry. So I met some parents, we hired a private teacher, and I’m rolling with a 4-family homeschool pod. I’m keeping my kid in public school, hoping the curriculums can align and not go crazy. Love and strength to all moms and dads and partners out there. It’s tough - but so are we!
Could some of the moms share their favorite Christmas traditions and activities? Looking for some positivity this holiday and would love to learn about special things that you do with your families.
Any recommendations on consulting firms that work with lower middle market pe firms? Mbb, big 4 rates are too expensive so most likely looking for boutiques
Hi ladies, looking for advice on pivoting my career. Currently primary engineer for a system that supports 25k users across 200+ offices. I'm bored with IT. I'm a Jill of many trades, networking, wireless, voice, etc. I'm currently working on learning various netops tools. I like figuring out how to put pieces together but it's not much of a challenge anymore. I'm working on putting together a 5 year plan to move to 100 percent remote because my husband wants to retire and move. Advice?
Anyone have any book recommendations? Ideally ones that have helped you throughout your career
Has anyone had a live jury trial since covid? We could potentially have one in the next 30-45 days. I have team members who very strongly do not want to travel to urban areas and potentially be exposed for a variety of very legitimate reasons (personal and family health issues). I’m not willing to make anyone do it. Has anyone dealt with this?
Ok be honest, candidates. I really love this set of questions, I’ve been considering shifting my current interview style to these questions - I think they really give you an idea of who this person would be within the work setting. But the questions almost feel too deep for a recruiter to ask. What would you think if a recruiter took a different path and asked these questions instead of the usual ones? https://blog.shrm.org/blog/9-interesting-interview-questions-that-actually-reveal-a-lot-about-candidat
How do you guys make new friends in LA for an over 40 gay CPA? Corp culture, gay or straight, in LA is like that in Japan...either drink or become isolated in both your personal and professional life.
In Australia. Boarded a domestic flight from Melbourne to Sydney on JetStar. They board their planes with two entrance points. Rows 1-16 enter through the front, rows 17-32 through the back of plane.
From talking to students at multiple M7 schools, it seems like all of the BB/MBB/FAANG companies recruit at most if not all of the schools . So if you're planning on recruiting for one of these, is there really a major difference in career opportunities between each school? Asking because it seems like some schools are specifically known for finance vs consulting vs tech, but if the companies are all recruiting at all these schools, the differences don't seem as pronounced to me.
Baby Boy name suggestions please!
Trying to decide between two portfolio ops roles, both in the Bay Area: Small-ish VC firm, ~135k base + 35k bonus Medium PE firm, ~115k base + 115k bonus Which would you choose? I’m leaning towards the PE firm bc it’s more hands-on, faster learning curve, and higher TC, but the VC role seems to have a better WLB and generally sounds cooler (getting exposed to VC vs continuing in the corporate world). What do you think?
Am I underpaid? Analytics Sr. Consultant (semi-technical role) w/ 8 YOE, age 31 - Austin, Tx. With Finance BA and Econ MA from mediocre University. Salary-$90k, no bonus/stock/etc.
How do you all handle stress at work? I’m on a though project and feeling sort of hung out to figure it all myself. My stomach is in knots and I’m waking up in the middle of the night thinking about the case.
Anyone have any insight into what it’s like working at Stripe (WLB, culture, growth opportunities, etc.)?
