My Obgyn is offering weekly classes that range from “childbirth” to “infant cpr” and mom/dad “meet and greets”. Outside of the cpr one which seems important, did anyone attend classes and find them useful? Or did not attend classes and wish they had? The recommended curriculum is about 20-30 hours in total over 2-3 months which is a time commitment. Thank you!

I did them! It was helpful to have someone filter the whole damn internet into a bunch of evidence-based readouts. I found the classes a bit drawn out but the content was solid. This was the real stuff. Not the “your baby is an avocado” fluff from The Bump. I am expecting my 2nd and still referencing the info as each pregnancy/birth/4th trimester is so different.

This. It’s all on the internet but the class is nice to meet people and to get the info given to you in digestible way by professionals. We did a 5 hour weekend course and my husband got a lot out of it.

I would do it if I had the option we know nothing about caring for a baby. My insurance company sent me some literature and videos recently though.

Do them all :) it’s a great way to meet other parents in your area and you’ll get good tips and tricks!

Happy Wednesday! I am trying to plan with our AP and climate lead on what we can do in distance learning as a school wide event. I suggested we still host our multicultural club assemblies on zoom for the school. Anyone have experience with zoom assemblies to promote a positive climate in DL? Thanks!

Has anyone been diagnosed with a subchorionic hematoma/hemorrhage in their first trimester ? How did it go for you- did it go away, stay without impact, or lead to a miscarriage ? I’m 7 weeks pregnant with my first. I gained about 25 pounds of stress weight last year and now have a bit of a belly. Between the weight gain and my pregnancy bloating, I already look 4 months pregnant and barely recognize my body. I’m struggling to find clothes that are comfortable, as anything that presses on my stomach irritates it, and my waist fluctuates +/-3” every day. Has anyone started wearing maternity clothing this early? My husband and I haven’t even told anyone that we’re expecting

I’m 24 weeks and my stomach is stretching so hard that literally my bellybutton hurts me daily. Is this normal?!!! Not even going to get into my muscle and bone pain, that I’ve heard people complain about so I am familiar with. How is this supposed to get even bigger over the next 3 months?

We want to start trying for a baby in the next few months but I also am looking for a new job. I know that FMLA eligibility requires you to have worked at least a year at your current job. 33 weeks pregnant and I’m starting to annoy even myself. My husband brought up a bedtime snack for me in bed and went to give our daughter bath and put her down for sleep. Anyone experience exhaustion setting in at the end of second trimester? First trimester came with exhaustion like I have never experienced before and then most of second trimester has been more or less back to normal energy levels. Currently at 26 weeks and have been totally dragging for the past week or more. Does anyone have tips for getting through this?

I’m sure this has been asked before - but any cases of not feeling pregnant? Especially the 1st trimester and have to wait on ultrasounds to confirm things are ok. How do you cope with the unknowns?!

Might be a silly question - but can we choose to have a c-section over natural delivery? The thought of natural delivery scares me
