After reading many annual reports, I am really getting tired of the fact that female management board members are always HR. Often that’s the only female member. Gender equality has long way to go
On a call with the CEO talking about diversity and they compare a person with tattoos experiencing prejudice in the office to Black people colleague experiences... Meanwhile last I checked, a tattoo was a choice and removable. Also depending on placement, you can’t see it.

The best private school (best on ranking) in my area is an all girls school (K-12). What’s the pros/cons of sending my daughter to an all girls school? My wife and I both grew up outside of the US and have not experienced single gender schools. Looking for any thoughts /personal experiences. Thanks!

Not in GPS, but I do get the emails from Dan Helfich and I just want to say he seems like a helluva leader. He comes across as authentic and genuinely invested in diversity and well being of his ppl.
Do NOT claim you are "colorblind" in the workplace. 1. DE&I knowledge is now a core leadership competency. Colorblind claims will earn you the reputation of being DEI-ignorant at best & racist at worst. 2. Colorblindness within the context of workplace diversity is an obvious lie. You do NOT want to be painted as an intellectually dishonest leader. 3. Colorblind claims signal that you lack the leadership skills & vocabulary to have key conversations. Ask questions here, in this safe space.

Currently talking to recruiters for a new job and it is honestly such a turnoff when they talk too much about having a strong company culture and/or talking about making sure I'm a good fit culturally. For me that borders on culty and is a red flag. I would much rather hear from a recruiter that a workplace's "culture" is that they are accepting of all cultures, diversity, and personality types.
Since George Floyd's murder and the sudden Corporate America "wokeness," I (black guy) have been routinely contacted by unacquainted Partners who explicitly state something to the effect "Client X wants diversity, so we'd like you on this deal..." It really comes across as tone deaf and completely patronizing. I appreciate the efforts to diversity (albeit forced), but Partners really need to learn how to not be so supercilious in the approach. You don't have to overtly state that I'm the quota.

I come from a racist￼, xenophobic family that thinks feminism is ridiculous - lovely people, I know . My nephew is almost 3 and such a sweet boy, for now. I want to buy him some thing for Christmas that is subtly educational￼ and teaches him the values of inclusion etc. Where are some good ideas on gifts for him?￼ I have already bought him the Marie Curie and Amelia Earhart books, which passed my family’s ‘screening￼’
By now, nearly every CEO of a major company has made some public statement or proclamation of their commitment to racial equality, diversity, and such matters. What percent of those do you believe truly comes from the heart and a bias for both personal and corporate action, versus a necessary public relations response with little personal ownership? My view: about 30%. That is still a great number, because it’s far higher than zero.

Hey fishes, I got confirmation of an offer from EY UK for a manager position. However the confirmation is only on mail, I did get a mail from the partner as well. Didnt recieve official contract yet, now I need to answer to another firm now. Although little uneasy in rejecting other offer before getting the contract. HR said it should take around a week, which will be tmrw. HR knows about the situation already & I feel chasing her again will just piss her off. Any suuggestions?

Interviewing with EY consulting as EH and am asked to do a first round via Hire Vue. The interview includes pre recorded questions and some “games” - this is quite new and first time for me…could anyone who’s been through the process share a bit more on your experience? What questions I could expect and what are those games?
