In your opinion, what can companies do to make racial diversity in management and corporate leadership positions a priority?
A lot of companies put out ads or talked about policy or internal changes in response to the BLM movement. I’m wondering if, beyond the immediate ads and statements that were released this actually continued. What are some things your agency has done… or could do to make a real impact in the realm of Diversity, equity and inclusions (DEI).

Currently talking to recruiters for a new job and it is honestly such a turnoff when they talk too much about having a strong company culture and/or talking about making sure I'm a good fit culturally. For me that borders on culty and is a red flag. I would much rather hear from a recruiter that a workplace's "culture" is that they are accepting of all cultures, diversity, and personality types.

By now, nearly every CEO of a major company has made some public statement or proclamation of their commitment to racial equality, diversity, and such matters. What percent of those do you believe truly comes from the heart and a bias for both personal and corporate action, versus a necessary public relations response with little personal ownership? My view: about 30%. That is still a great number, because it’s far higher than zero.

Thought: When you see diversity of skin color as the most critical factor you miss out of diversity of experience and ideas. Quite often these overlap, but there are a lot of people out there like JD Vance who come from poor white roots, but because of their skin color they’re assumed to have some magical privilege bestowed upon them by society. I am am Asian woman. I started a discussion about how we could improve our diversity and inclusion efforts on my UX team. I offered a possible solution. Out of a team of 14, only 4 responded, 2 female in support, 2 male with lukewarm and hostile responses. The silence is deafening from the rest of the team (all male). I don't want to be here anymore. I attribute this to being in Utah, majority white. Is it like this everywhere? Or if I change jobs, will it be better?
