Gotta love when a higher up woman says they are all for diversity & promoting women in tech and then they proceed to take on all the work, pushing you, a minority, out. Wish I could work in anywhere but here. Even if it means less money but at least I wouldn’t feel like an outsider. I’m this close to quitting.
When agencies post pics of their white staff, and boasts that they’re all about diversity, I call BS. A diverse house doesn’t mean the IT person or the receptionist- unless they’re also creatives!:)
Help! I'm a Sped teacher (ELA inclusion) that comes home to a High Functioning Autistic 9 yr old with ADHD and a slew of sensory issues that has sworn off soap 🤢. I've made visual check list for bathroom processes, bought timers, tried different bars and body washeds with net sponges, towels and even invested in a pricey showerhead with multiple settings. His set of needs are out of my wheel house. I need suggestions before I just pack up and move out *sarcasm but at the end of my rope*.
So, I don’t know which gender pronouns to start off with with someone and like…is it worse to ask them? I would be so upset if someone asked me (and no one else) if I’m him/her. But then I’m very binary in the way I present myself. Feels like a lose lose that I really don’t want to get wrong because…it’s my new manager.
I'm interviewing for a new company and want to get a true sense of their culture. I want to ask real questions about diversity & inclusion. Any suggestions on questions to ask my interviewers? I will certainly keep them professional but I do not want to beat around the bush. What are some direct but appropriate/fair questions to ask that they are less likely to BS their way out of? In particular, I want to ask about pay equity and opportunities for growth/advancement for POCs.
Any white male who has recently won a Cannes or been promoted… have you ever felt held back due to your skin color or gender?
Anyone else getting messages from Google recruiter on LinkedIn, regarding diversity & inclusion efforts for their Cali office? Not sure if a scam.
I've heard 4A's tried to collect diversity data from agencies in the past and the legal departments of the major holding companies stonewalled them. Does anyone know if there is any truth to that?
The anticipation before the final deliverable. Let’s introduce everyone so we only have a couple of minutes for the big show and no questions. Oh - and ignore our lack of diversity for this meeting.
I overheard a small law firm owner saying he will never hire women because the last female attorney he hired ended up being pregnant, and left the firm immediately after her maternity leave was over. How is this kind of discrimination still going on? How could we address this? One thing I can think of is mandatory parental leave regardless of gender, but I doubt it’ll ever happen in the US.

Hello Fishes, Please help me with the genuine review of Collins Aerospace Bangalore, especially WLB, perks, culture, diversity and growth. Thanks in advance.
If you were offered a role at a company where there was little to no diversity within the group you were interviewing for (not even at the level you were interviewing for, or at senior leadership level) would this be a red flag for you in terms of culture, & potential opportunities? I want to keep an open mind but this company has been around for 20 years. The people I interviewed with were great but im concerned that there’s a larger problem at play. Thoughts?
Blunt, elephant in room ? for recruiters/CCOs/ECDs: when u get outreach from someone u know/assume is 40+ straight white male, is that sort of a non-starter now? Please know this isn’t griping because inequality absolutely must be fixed...it’s more just curiosity. Because seems almost moot for older whiteys to apply when agencies are (SHOULD be) actively trying to hire racial/gender/sexual orientation diversity now more than ever. “Advertising White Dudes: We Had a Good (Selfish) Run!”™️ 😁
Need advice: Received a race and gender discrimination complaint from an employee involving 2 company C-level execs, one of them to whom I report. Usually I would conduct my own internal investigation. Since this involves the highest levels, I can’t escalate it, I’m not an employment law expert, I’m a generalist. My plan is to involve our outside employment counsel. Usually I go through one of the execs before interacting with outside counsel. (Continued in comments)
It’s even more obnoxious when it’s a brand that hardly has any diversity on top or didn’t bother giving hazard pay for their essential workers which included lots of black folk.
I'm long on lots of tech stocks and hemorrhaging money in my portfolio rn. Any advice on stock picks to diversity and on how to STAY CALM?

Maybe we should implement something like automatic posts refresh? I got a notification about "someone like mypost" but it isn't displaying at the post title...

Looks like a massive Exodus happened in Deloitte? Trying to staff a project and there is literally no one to staff with (at least Salesforce practice) and we are having to reach out to contractors. Is this a result of layoffs that happened last year and folks are purely unhappy with pay (not considering project pressure as that can vary/be subjective)? For folks who have been here for a long time, is this a common occurrence or is it especially bad this time around?
HELP! I just got a BCG consultant offer. PwC paid for my MBA. I still need to work here for 3 more years before not owing any of it back (currently would have to pay 100% of it if I left). Is the move worth it? Or should I maybe push to move to Strategy& (internal move) instead of BCG?
Vent Session: My manager gave me feedback that I didn’t give enough notice for taking a Friday off. I gave 5 weeks notice, and not on a Friday anywhere near a crunch time in the project. I log on today and got a note from her saying she is taking the next full week off on an impromptu vacation in Hawaii. Someone calm me down.
I am noticing that McKinsey is increasingly recruiting at non-elite schools (very roughly speaking not top 15 schools). At my old undergrad, 5 years ago the most competitive firm to show up was EY. This year McKinsey took 4 non-internship full hires. Why is McKinsey going “down market” for recruiting? Are elite school kids losing interest in consulting so McK has to cast a wider net? Or is McK seeking a wider pool for other reasons? I advise undergrads on consulting so want to be best informed.
Is it ok to get personal in salary negotiations? For example, let the recruiter know that I’m a single parent supporting three young kids and two retired parents and I really need more money.
What's one company you would never work for?
Pwc fishes, care to comment?
best intern screw up stories? one time at a project, an intern stopped a meeting and lectured a client for "littering" in the conference room for 10 mins
How do people afford 20% down on homes above 500K? Outside of inheriting cash, curious how late 20s early 30s folks find themselves with 100K plus in cash?
