A1 - yep! 13 yrs later and 2 more!
5 years until you’re grandma 😉
Wow what a wonderful story. And here I am, 35 and single. Good for you!
Lord wtf is wrong with you all. I know “its fb” but are you really that dense?
This is so wonderful to hear OP. Its amazing how our perspectives change over a short time and what some people end up being able to do for themselves and their families.
Damn, this post is super deep.
Way to put things into perspective, OP
Wow interesting range of replies. Sorry for the iPhone typos but that wasn’t really the point of the post....
Just wanted to share how quickly things change and remind everyone to enjoy their time with their children. Also, posted to highlight that we all have different paths...
@KPMG1 - I don’t think I lost my 20’s. My 20’s were different than the majority (especially people in this field) but you have to play the cards your dealt. Not everything in life is going to go according to plan.
Harsh KPMG1. Watch yourself.
And how bittersweet it is to see him groaning up. Enjoy the moments with your kids they go by to fast.
To think a pregnant 17 year old - who might (statistically speaking) have gone to fit a certain socioeconomic archetype - can turn it around and succeed in a highly competitive professional field is amazing. We need more of this kind of diversity in the workplace. How did you do it OP?
Had mine at 15. 8 years later, making more than both my parents combined (Not much present company considered but still great for me). Momma-bear jumped ship a year in and its been a blast the whole way. Life's a thrill when everyone expects you to fail.
Cheers.
OP, I read your post last night and I haven’t stopped thinking about it.
I think it’s incredible you pulled it off, and I deeply admire how you view the experience. Good on you
Nice! Young mom. Are you still with the father?
OP and IBM1 - you guys should write about your experiences. Half the kids in my high school wrote their lives off because they got pregnant as a teenager or made poor decisions/choices. People need turnaround stories.
It’s the struggle that makes people like us. Keep it up OP🤜🏻🤛🏼
I agree D1! OP, thanks for sharing, it's so nice and refreshing to see posts like this
Honestly I think this is great. All of you people being negative need to get a life.
PWC3 & PWC2 - Thank You! I completely agree we need more diversity in our workplace. We need a way to break down barriers so that people can obtain a quality education and end up with a quality career regardless of their socioeconomic status. Education was key for me. I just refused to accept that we would end up like most teenage pregnancies. My husband has always been supportive of me pursuing higher education so that was a huge help. We also worked opposite schedules and were lucky enough to have family around to help when our schedule did overlap.
Wow you’re 29, married with three kids...I’m 29 and live in a studio and spend most of my free time sleeping.
Come, Groaning. Groan
How was that not malicious and rude...😑
