I think it depends on your performance and if there are specific things you can point to that show you’ve added value to the company. I don’t think it matters if the company’s itself is making a profit.

Sorry I agree in the sense that it would be tone deaf if they weren’t doing well and they asked for a raised. I meant it like even if they are doing well that doesn’t automatically mean you deserve/should ask for a raise.

You should definitely ask for a performance review and make sure raise, progression etc gets talked about. Be ready to give examples of great stuff you did

Hello fishes. I'm a MBA graduate currently working as a digital marketing professional in a mid size consulting firm with 3 years of experience. I am terribly underpaid in my current org at 5.5 LPA after a recent promotion and annual appraisal. Another mid size consulting firm offered me 7.5 LPA but I am asking them around 9 LPA. Am I asking too much or shall I take the offer of 7.5 LPA

I am currently a biomedical engineer at @U.S. Food and Drug Administration with over two years of experience. I would like to hear everyone's experience navigating the GS increase (salary raise) as a government employee. Here are some questions for discussion. How long did it take you to be promoted to the next pay grade? What do you think contributed the most to that salary increase? If you transitioned into the private sector, what drove you to make this decision? Thanks!

Would it be in bad taste if I were to bring up my teammate’s salary when trying to negotiate a salary raise? He has a similar title as me, but my manager doesn’t know his salary. Would it be a bad move if I told him that I want the same pay as my teammate?

Joined EY TAS mid-Feb as staff 2 (had 1.5 yoe before in audit). With the October promotion now pushed earlier to August, am I still eligible to be considered for that promotion batch? Also any advice on how to bring this up to the partners would be much appreciated! EY

I accepted an offer A a month back. Now I got a better offer B. But I like company and work of A Should I ask A to raise the offer?

Is there a way to bypass the promotion policy of not being able to apply for jobs in 2 or more levels above your current level? Especially, if one joined the company at lowest level with over 8 years experience? Reason was, I took a career break for 6 years and to maximise my chance of getting back into the industry, I applied for a role I was almost guaranteed to get. I had hoped it would be easy to rise in ACN but was met with "you can't be promoted 2 levels above", cont'd in comments

Hi All, Promotion letters are out for C2 and C3A

Hello. I am currently renting a house in this wealthy Boston suburb with my wife and 3 young kids. I just got a new job and can now work remotely anywhere in the US. Since we want to buy our 1st house, I am looking for advice on black mid-class neighborhood with good public schools to raise my kids. Any advice is welcomed 🙏🏽

Currently a 1.5 year tenure Consultant in Deloitte GPS RFA. Just received an offer from Guidehouse for $82K, a $16K salary boost from what I make currently. I am not up for a promotion to SC at this point. I've also heard Deloitte benefits are better, but would anyone have opinions on whether I should take the job?

After 1.5 years at the company I realised I am well underpaid. I am well aware that it would be a long shot to ask for a big raise (20k), but at the same time I don’t want to change company for that reason. A career coach told me that with my qualification I could easily earn 40k more per year than what I do. It’s really frustrating knowing that some colleagues without previous work experience would earn more on day 1 than what I earn now. I was a tech consultant for 1.5 years before this. Tips?

I’m just going to say it: I am so exhausted working for white men CDs. To the point where I don’t even want to work in this industry anymore. I’ve been at agencies, I’ve been brand-side, and every CD/ECD is like deja vu of the last. I can’t sit through these meetings anymore with the constant ego stroking, idea killing, opinion trumping. Then they’ll ask the women on the team “who wants to go to 3% !?” like heroes, but won’t actually join themselves when they need it most. I feel so defeated.
