Just finished a Vice documentary on “The Villages” in Florida. It suddenly hit me that the Boomer generation will be a statistical outlier when compared to previous and post generations. I need help paying down debt in the most optimal way. Student loans: FEDERAL [ $25k, @3.89%, $320 min. Monthly] ($0 @0% through Sep] + PRIVATE [ $38k @4.57%, $500 min. monthly]. How do I optimize payments throughout the duration of these loans? Is there an excel model/spreadsheet you can point me toward? (And does the crisis forbearance change the optimization equation?). Should I just liquidate and pay down the CC debt ASAP? Should I consolidate the CC debt into another loan? Curious how folks have thought about the right balance of debt vs investment.
