Disagree, this is on the partner or senior manager ro make clear travel and resources that will be on site and set expectations

like

Honestly I don't even talk to some clients before I show up so if I showed and they said why aren't you local not sure how the hell I would be at fault. Engagement manager tells you where to be and when. It's on them.

like

I think you might get some backlash with this post. Kinda our jobs and basic etiquette to keep our direct clients informed of where we will be on any given day... I usually say bye to my client on thursdays before I head out.

like

I'm with the Principle. I think it's up to the leadership of the project to know the client exactly expectations as they are staffing. If the project leadership knew that this was a client expectation it would be common sense to staff locally and / or let the resource know to be there on Fridays. I've been on local projects before and still never went to the client on Friday though some team members did as it was not required

like

That's all on the project leadership, or you.

like

Guess who is staying until Fridays now.......😨

like

We can help the client with that.

Firstly, the principal needs to talk to the client about their interaction with you. Your client should not yell at you due to a misunderstanding. Your principal also needs to explain your schedule.

like

Sounds like a good excuse to find a better client and team to work with

Hmmmm. Sounds very uptight. I never experienced that before.

I got hired as a freelancer on a project. 2 days in and we’re off to a slow start getting access to what I need. It’s paid hourly. I blocked out time to work a full day knowing I’d dive right in but that’s not how it turned out. My question is do I bill the full day even though I only put in a few hours of kick off calls and contacting folks to get access to the things I need? It’s not my fault they were disorganized. What would you do?

Hi. I have accepted offer from Accenture and I got link for countdown portal. In the portal my project/dept is showing as "RAiSE" and location as "IDC/Bengaluru". Anybody have any idea about this department "RAiSE" in terms of growth and opportunities?

For UX/UI designers. When a client is looking to redo their website what is your process like? Lately I’ve been working on a lot of UX web projects but haven’t been getting the full project brief. When we get a client asking for a redesign we’ll have a kick off call to help us understand the client objectives and goals. From there I’m usually the one to audit their current site and see what’s working and what can be better optimized. we also think through the site navigation. But is this enough?

Let’s pretend we’re holding companies. I’ll start: No, we can’t hire an extra writer even though you’re clocking 70+ hours a week. BTW, our contract with your client caps billable hours per employee because they know we don’t pay overtime. Here’s a non-billable code you should start using for the rest of the year.

Guys I know this question has been asked before, but just want to hear some thoughts on this. Is it worth it to go from one big 4 company (EY) to another (Deloitte) for consulting? The major factor is pay increase. The major down side is loss of people network. Thoughts?

Why does everyone put Tech / FAANG on such a pedestal, claiming it’s better than MBB. Sure, the comp and WLB may be better, but you won’t be doing as meaningful and impactful work e.g. Govt Covid response, Gates foundation projects, industry defining projects in the space of a few months etc

I was due for a promotion but then covid hit, and during the peak of layoffs/furloughs, I was given the run-around that we have agency wide promotion freezes, etc. Over the past month, a handful of people have been promoted. I know everyone's situation is different but I can't help feeling snubbed. How do I know whether they are genuinely trying to promote me and can't, versus them stringing me along for as long as possible? I dont want it to come to having to bring another offer to the table..
