My partner is leaving me and I'm afraid I won't be able to find another who works as hard or gets me as well as they do. Im happy for them, but I have lots of anxiety about what this means for my career progression. And I'm sad...it's like we're breaking up :(

I don't have a lot of experience here, OP, but I feel your pain - I've experienced similar things when my right hands have left... its a scary and sad place to be. You'll go through a mourning period, but make sure you keep an open mind in vetting and being introduced to new partners - while you had something great with them, it's possible you could find someone who works just as well (or better) in the future... (and if not, well, you could always follow them to their new gig and reunite!)

Thanks for your encouraging words SAS1...you're absolutely right.

100% ... change is hard!

Clearance adjudicators: When does past drug use become an automatic disqualifier? I smoked pot a handful of times in college and my early 20s, and it always a big deal for my public trust screenings. It’s been more than 7 years since I’ve partaken in such activity, and am wondering if I would qualify for a security clearance of any level. No criminal record- credit is near-perfect.

Currently living with my parents and paying $800 rent. Is it worth it to buy a home right now? I got a deal on a home that was going for $450k but went down and after negotiating, we agreed on $370k. Prime location in the city. DINK $150k TC. We only have about $60k in cash saved so we were planning on doing a 5% down and our monthly payments (not incl utilities) would be about $2.8-$3k.
