Does anyone else feel like they are just falling behind with the price increases for our big ticket items such as cars and homes? Like I started working in 2017 and I realized I couldn’t make it the way I wanted on $105k so now I’m at around $250k and I got some rentals but all of the homes in my area have doubled in price since 2020 so from $500k to $1m or above so I feel like I’m still just as financially tight now and cars seem just as unobtainable as when I first started.
So, apparently my school has the lowest teacher attendance this year. As teachers- what would be a good incentive to get perfect attendance and not use your PTO?
Sometime I think about bringing my significant other to office on Sunday or on a holiday and have wild sex on my desk. Anyone else have similar thoughts?
I hate people who have kids and then act like their life is so much more busier than yours and that they have a life and if you're single you're prob just sitting around doing nothing. News fucking flash single people have a life we actually can be very busy. Jeeeeesuuusss.
Just got an email that my bonus would be docked by $50 per day per occurrence for not logging in my time entries to be equal to 7 hours. WTF. I hate this shit. What do you all do when you bill 12 hours one day and 4 hours the next day? No chance in hell I’m logging 3 hours of vacation time for the difference! Also, fuck you timesheets.
Multiple scrum teams spending time hanging holiday decorations. Yesterday we were told we would have to work on saturdays in january because we are red.
How many PTO hours is everyone losing on 12/31/15 because your project won't let you take time off for the holidays? #fuckingscrooges
Talk to me about vacation shaming. Whenever I have mentioned time off to my superiors (one in particular), I get a very negative response disguised as "helpful advice" suggesting it would be better for my career that I not take leave at this specific time, or I get the cold shoulder. I'm a pleaser, so I carry this stress with me when I do take time and have missed family events, etc. in an effort to avoid this feeling. I'm meeting or slightly exceeding goals, if that's relevant.
Anyone else enjoying this holiday time on the bench?
I failed FAR 3 times and lost all of my other parts. I feel like giving up. The exams I passed were the old versions and now I feel it all went to waste. Is it worth taking time off to study?
What makes a recruiter not respond to emails? I sent thank you notes to which I didn’t get a response from the interviewers but that could be common idk. However at the end of the interview the interviewer mentioned I might need to meet a few other people who became unavailable on my super day. I communicated to the recruiter that I will be going on vacation and if there is interest in scheduling more interviews and get a timeframe. It’s been the whole day and I got no response.
My husband and I are both freelance in production. We took a lot of time off after our baby was born and now need to get back to work and find childcare. Unpredictable sched/long days, what do we do?
I have been in sales even before college. I'm reaching a burn out. I feel like the expectations get higher the more work I put in and that ends with me putting on many hats to get done. I can't catch a break, let alone allowed a decent vacation without having to negotiate based on performance. I honestly don't want to be in sales forever. I'm versatile when it comes to any tasks due to the nature of wearing many hats. Any suggestions?
Here's the leaked EY internal email with the real reasons why they took away everyone's PTO
So a (non-Asian) friend asked me (also non-Asian) to order Chinese or Korean food with her to celebrate Lunar New Year. I declined, saying that it seems weird to ask a Chinese employee to serve *me* on *their* holiday. To be transparent, I do have a thing about holidays and labor, trying to avoid shopping and accessing services on holidays, so this might be part of that feeling I have, but I also feel my whiteness on this one. Curious on others' thoughts on this... for next year.
Has anyone had experience getting a MetLife disability claim approved for time off prior to giving birth? ACN seemed to think it was straight forward as my doctor sent a letter, but MetLife is telling me they plan to deny it - soo it looks like I’m going to have to spend time working on an appeal. 🙃 Yay healthcare. Really appreciate any insight or tips!
We just found out we lost our baby at 14 weeks; no heartbeat on the ultrasound today. D&C tomorrow. Husband and I are devastated, shocked, and don’t know what to do. Mamas who have been here, how did you heal? We don’t even know where to begin.
Got an offer from the government and they are asking me to complete the pre-employment requirements. Start date will be established after we find out that I meet those equipments. I want to negotiate the step and vacation time. Do I negotiate before or after completing those pre-employment requirements? Also any tip on how to negotiate is appreciated!
test on 1.1.5!

But once again not posting
How many first year analysts here started as interns? What did you guys do to get those jobs?
Where is a new build???
Top top post!
Post with company
Maybe we should implement something like automatic posts refresh? I got a notification about "someone like mypost" but it isn't displaying at the post title...
No company displaying!
Sometimes I think about how much time I've wasted making decks look perfect but then there are also those times that I look back on a deck and think "Damn, that's one pretty looking deck."
How hard do you push interns? An intern told me that a task took 4 solid hours, which seemed very high for the output provided. I checked the file version history, and there are a few 30-60 min breaks, and 80% of the task was obviously done in the hour before a check-in deadline. How, and how harshly should I push them on this discrepancy? Before you ask, this was a data transformation task that happens 100% in the same file, with no need to Google, use other files, ask for help, etc.
This project keeps me wondering- why am I still doing this? Stockholm syndrome I guess...
So ... Starting the post CRT and base pay/bonus thread ... Cutting through the scripted answers
What's the weirdest exit you've ever seen? Social worker, candle making artisan, Buddhist monk, chocolate maker....?
Can I expense life?
People who make 250K+ - do you still feel like you need / want more? Do you have a number in mind that you think is enough? Do you think you will need more when you reach it?
