From the perspective of the person whose car was damaged, the occupants of your car are responsible. If nobody agrees to handle it, they can contact the police and the insurance companies, and it would go to your insurance.
Between you and the passenger, the passenger should be responsible since they were the one who slammed the door into another car.
Car next door
I'm gonna say you are as the driver. *but I'm no lawyer* all liability with the car falls to the insurance holder which I'm assuming is the driver. Just like if there were open containers in the car and you got pulled over, the driver would be responsible for that, not the passengers.
Interesting. So if the passenger doesnt have insurance and doesn't stick around to pay then is the other dinged car just screwed? I guess that damaged car is the one truly liable.
