Cognizant Experience - Last Wednesday, My HR round was completed and they said your offer letter will be released by next day(they asked me to fill cdf-2 form) then I kept waiting and waiting for the offer letter. After multiple email chain and all, HR called me to say, we cannot move with your candidature as your experience is below 3 years. I said I already informed this to you before the interview, she said yes but we can not proceed. Very unprofessional. CCTC: 5.5, YOE: 2.5, Tech: Java
Wait, you're being laid off, and you have to interview to land a worse position within the same company? LOL
It's probably time to move on. After 7 years you're probably underpaid anyway.
Its very typical when you stay at one place too long without a promotion or position change of some sort. Gotta get back out into the market to see your true value.
Not sure what you're being paid but with that kind of experience you can make pretty solid money if you take the next three months finding something better. Seems like a no brainer to me!
There’s open positions at my company for what it sounds like you used to do. Upselling existing accs & a mix of searching for net-new. You in NY?
I’d be interested in some info as well.
Are you interviewing for one of the new roles you mentioned? If so, then yes, that's normal. It's probably more of a formality to give the manager a chance to get to know you and see if you'd be a good fit.
I’d be interviewing elsewhere immediately
Pro
Take any severance offered and gtfo of there
Why is the account manager role being eliminated?
It’s moving from sales to service. No more commissions but a higher base.
What company are you working for? Definitely start looking for something new
I think you can do both. No harm in searching for better opportunities. Give the interview as back up plan, no point in putting yourself at risk of unemployment.
That is pretty standard. I don't think it is fair at all but I have seen it happen many times.
