Jump. Money wins. GC process, esp for Indians is long and tiring- need a silver lining, which is comp in this case. Plenty of time left in H1 anyway.

What do you do? Just curious! 240 defiantly sounds enticing.

Technical Architect

Congratulations I'm an architect too. YoE?

I'd take up the new position, only if my professional carrer's bigger picture aligns with it.

Yup i am from india

Def jump. GC process is tedious and atleast you have a silver lining of good comp. Priority day 9 months later is not gonna matter considering the wait. Three years is plenty of time to get GC done. Best of luck!

I second this! But just don't loose the bigger picture on what you want from your professional carrer. I understand the hike is enticing, but money is not everything.

immediately leave Deloitte..... D will definitely mess up your GC at some future step.... sooner you leave D immigration happier you will be

Was laid off in April and just got an offer for 25% more than i was making but for a role that I am not too excited about. Times are tough and i do need to get income. How bad is it to accept but continue with the rounds of interviews I started for roles I am more excited about?

How long did you wait between interview rounds? I had my first R1 interview in may, and found out around Memorial Day that I was moving on to the next round. Since that day, I’ve followed up a few times (1x every 2-3 weeks) but it’s been radio silent. The Hiring Manager who I have spoken to said I’m still on their candidate list. I know the process at Google takes awhile, but wondering if I should continue to follow up/if this is an indication. It’s for a Pgm role in GCP

Any books/self help materials for someone who is constantly worrying (and waste a lot of unnecessary time)? E.g. No matter if i pass or fail an interview, there is always something to worry about. The worrying/anxiety multiplies when I proceeded further in the interview stages. Now that I signed the offer and is pending background checks, my anxiety is off the roof as it itches closer to my starting date.

If anyone is looking for a job working in RSM's tax financial services group that has experience in either Private Equity, Hedge Funds, or Venture Capital space send me a message. Please have a resume for me to review and then I can get you setup for an interview. I am based on Los Angeles, but I am not concerned about location, as we need people in this space all throughout the firm. I spent 13 years with the big four before making the move and it was the best decision I have made.

Applying to industry after 2 yrs in a data-heavy strategy consulting role, and running into an odd problem: people are automatically putting me into a "heavy-quant" box and becoming apprehensive of my fit for a business role (strategy, FP&A, etc). 2 Qs: 1. Does this sound plausible, or am I overthinking based on a small sample? 2. How would you highlight your fit/interest in moderately quantitative roles? Consultants generally like my "Context> result> personal contribution" format of bullets

Working with an (external) headhunter for a role, and just found out they want me to proceed to the second round of interviews. I had told the headhunter after the first round that I was interested in moving forward (although I did express some concerns I had) but after thinking about it, I’ve decided I’m not interested in the role. Does it look bad to go back on my word and drop out of the process now?

Was hired into a company at a level that was more junior than my skills (Was out of work due to pandemic for a year). I’ve been at the company 5 months. We’re going through a reorg and my new position will really be leveraging my years of experience more so than other role. Is it appropriate to discuss a raise/adding senior to title? Or should I do the job and then prove myself then talk about raise. I have more experience than the senior members of my team. New leadership than when I was hired
