to continue putting ~$1k/mo. into the account, while aggressively paying off student loans and keeping other expenses low.
Plans are to get married in the next year, have a baby in the next year or two, buy property in ~5-6 years and have the student loans paid off before down payment.
What are your thoughts on investing vs continuing to put the funds into the HYS?
Thanks in advance for any advice!

What is your highest student loan interest rate and how much left?
@SM1 - yes, paying minimum on the 2% loan. The 0% interest one is a family loan which I’m paying an agreed upon amount back each month = about 10% of what I pay on my big loan.
@SC2 - you’re absolutely right that I should take out $10k from the HYS and throw it to my loans, BUT wondering if you read my initial post? With expensive short term things happening (wedding, potential baby, etc — shouldn’t I keep just a little more cash on hand?
What are your thoughts?
Wow, that's s high student loan bill. I hope the ROI has been decent at least? You have a lot of large upcoming expenses so it's no wonder you haven't been able to invest. I agree that it will be beneficial to have the majority of the student loans paid off before adding a mortgage. At a minimum, contribute to 401k up to employer match. I think it's fine not being able to save a ton right away like some people here have (although you'll miss on some big compound interst). I would determine how much you'll need saved for each of your upcoming expenses. Wedding cost 30k? Baby expenses will be high if you plan on using a daycare, we pay 21k for one and will soon be paying for 2. House 100k down payment? Hopefully you'll be able to rely on spousal income tip help offset and save.
Incredible ROI so far with an end in sight...I paid off about $40k in the last year. Undergrad, masters and MBA :/
Thank you for the advice!
