Hey! I recommend you gently address it today, and come up with some wfh rules you can both agree on. The earlier you set boundaries, the better.

This. Yes absolutely. I will talk to her today and hopefully it will work.

Yep order a white noise machine and get used to this. Lets support each other here. Also she can order a headset honestly

like

She has one 🤦‍♀️ she’s just on her phone with the door open and having her whol team of teachers saying hi to the dog. It’s not bad at first but 1 hour in it’s getting to me Que- too loud Honestly a first world problem. I was just venting

Ask her to use headphones because you have a job too

like

Yea I’m going to. This is probably her first time, she’s complained a lot but I get it, it’s just a bit annoying but I will address it once she gets off her call

Order a white noise machine from amazon. It will be the best $20-30 you could spend.

I have it running in the background yea

Hi everyone! Hitting an all time rut with work motivation and burnout, with very long workdays (generally 7:30 am - 8 or 9 pm). Any tips that have helped anyone with this? Podcasts, books, songs or anything else that helps bring back the inspiration and drive? I am having a difficult time paying attention, being productive & just feeling overall detachment. Think there’s some low grade depression at play w/ the WFH situation & shorter/colder days, but I don’t have much control over my hours

What is a good way to find a mentor at my firm? There are a couple attorneys/partners I think would be open to mentoring but how can I make it happen? Is it better to choose a senior associate vs a partner? I often feel like people are so busy I hate to bother them with extraneous things. How have you been able to develop a mentor-mentee relationship? Any advice esp. during wfh times would be much appreciated!

Any trial attorneys in here who can speak to hours at trial? The partners who I work for must have some kind of pharmaceutical help, because on a 2 week trial they are expecting everyone (partners, associates, and paralegals) to operate on 1-2 hours of sleep per night and be ready to go and be flawless in court all day, every day. This is my first jury trial so I have no context for knowing whether this is normal or not. I had a bench trial that was a lot of work, but not like this.
