AFAIK people who stay in rooms with better comfort (usually the bigger room among all) pays more in the share. Considering you don’t have anything in writing, If you think your master bedroom is more comfortable and spacious than the rest talk to your landlord and get a go ahead to put an Ad for a vacant Master bedroom availability.

I would find a middle ground with him in this matter

Does your company provide legal assistance plans ? Check your benefits it's possible they do and you are already paying a small fee monthly. Talk to an attorney and see what options you have. Sometimes just a strongly worded email from an attorney representing you will get him to cool off. Well it might also escalate - decide if escalation is worth it.

if it is a 2 bhk ...then honestly you guys should split half... doesn't matter if one room is a little big....as long as you have a room too ...its ok....if you dont have a room then that a very different thing and he should pay more ..

then fight it out ..or call the cops...lol... if you are so particular about the bigger room then you dhould have done a private deed and written specific rents and areas occupied on it ...you haven't done that ..so no point of nit picking....legally you dont own more or less ...

Ask to swap rooms if he says both rooms are same.

Good point by mck1 , even if it’s a month you can still see his response. If both rooms are same then he should not have problem shifting and you all can split even

Since you only have 1 month on the lease remaining, I’d suggest you do this 1. Agree that for next month share the rent equal but switch the room. 2. For all the previous months where he thinks he paid extra, he was using your furniture so consider that extra rent as the furniture rent.

#1 is something i can do and #2 i tried already for which he says I need to pay him for the having the bed and frame which he was using and since it was in his room😓

Do you have anything in writing? That will determine a lot of what you can or cannot do. Who is on the lease?

Nothing in writing when we started the lease we agreed things verbally for the different rent shares and now he is messing it . However I have an email saying that he extra paid and now he wants that money back. I tried couple of times to sort this out but he is not ready to come to the common grounds.

I am on your roommate's side. If you both use one bedroom each it was just nice of him to pay extra. I don't think you can force anything

Do you have a deposit on the place? If so, how much?

So what’s the total deposit on the place?

$1950 which is one month rent.

True also lesson learned for my trust on people. This guy has been real pain in the ass lately. Technically I shouldn't be worrying coz I dint raise any issue and it is up to him to solve however he is paying less rent from the share he told and making it look I m paying less of the equal share.

Rent is based on square footage, so maybe say that since he occupies more square footage then he should pay more and show him the calculation. And ask him why he was willing to pay more before and is only now changing his mind. God, I hate annoying roommates. I would threaten to sue if you have some contractual evidence. Even a text message of you agreeing to split in that way.

Oh that’s so stupid hahah he can’t dictate your use of the shared space. Find a way to sue

Is he on lease?

Yes I m will be paying my rent share and I hope I get the security check back which is my only hold to tally things and return the delta and get off this guys. Trust me he is 55 yo

What was the repercussions?

Tell your roommate - tu jaantaa nahi mera baap kaun hai😅😅😅

For sure if all these had to happen in India😅

Slap him

I joined the team less than a year ago and have been finding it difficult to meet people outside of my team/billable projects during covid. I'm new to consulting and want to meet people outside of my team and learn about their experiences. I've attempted to schedule coffee talks/intro chats with colleagues and joined different groups. What more can I do to stay connected? How do you engage with your broader team?

Anyone has idea, how many Coronavirus packages and bailouts are left to keep the good news coming and keep the markets inflated?

I’m trying to figure out what I need to do covid wise for my upcoming Europe trip (first week of August). Will be staying in Italy and Greece and passing thru (only airport) UK and Netherlands. I’m fully vaxxed from the US, will I be ok to enter/connect through these countries? There is so much conflicting info out there my head hurts.

Anyone have menstrual complications after their covid vaccine so bad they ended up calling their doctors? What did they do for you? I have had my period for 6 weeks straight after the covid vaccine. I worked with my doctor for YEARS to get my cycle and body where it needed to be (endometriosis) and have been on a pill so things were finally consistent and going great until the shot. I am miserable, scared and in pain. Just need to know I’m not the only one and things will get better.

Interviewing with some companies - despite great feedback at interviews, they are all trying to slot me in at an independent contributor level or an level lower than my current. Feeling frustrated - male colleagues are getting lateral positions or a level above current. Need I mention I am also up for promotion at current firm. Has anyone experienced this? Is this bias or just a symptom of the Covid economy?

Has anyone travelled to the US recently? If so- were you able to use the $40 COVID test at Shoppers as a negative test to cross the border? I’m considering going for a long weekend at the end of the month but trying to sort out the covid-related logistics.

Anyone been to Madrid lately? Where did you get a COVID test to reenter the US?

Has anyone moved from NYC to a big city in Texas (Dallas FW, Houston or Austin)? I’ve been to Texas two times and I’m interested in the personal freedom culture as well as space. I’m living in a small NYC studio paying way too much, subsidizing failing state and local governments. I was paying for the NYC culture which is gone for the foreseeable future due to Covid.

4 years at Accenture were stressful, left to go to Deloitte for $22k salary bump and hope for better culture, then COVID layoff happened. If I try returning to Accenture, which is the best division to try returning to (with generic consulting skills) and why? Not looking for "division spirit/pride," looking for insight into which divisions have better pay/culture/WLB/etc. (constructive replies only please, I realize I sound like a 🤡)

Would appreciate some perspective: my SO, who I live with, is closely following coronavirus and it’s to a point where he’s asked that we wash our hand every time we get home, ctd:

Consider a new pandemic, at what % fatality rate do you think vaccines will mandated by law for all citizens? This is not the last pandemic society will face. COVID has a low death rate compared to Ebola for example. What % fatality rate would it take for governments around the world including the US to legally require mandatory vaccinations of all citizens? Would it be 10%? 20? 50%? fatality rate? Or will we never mandate vaccines in lieu of personal freedom?

Coronavirus has forced everyone to think that our YOLO runway has shortened.

How are other districts compensating you for working over your contracted time? I’m not taking just over. I’m taking about 13+ hour work days, every day.
