Hi All, Am a developer mainly working with SQL and I want to move to AWS (devops), so I started to learn & practice few tools such as terraform, saltstack, prometheus, etc.
But I do not have hands on a live project, any ideas if companies would take in beginners in AWS ? Even though there are cloud projects in my domain it is a bit difficult to get into those projects as my lead & manager give me the standard answer "you're a critical resource for our project" :(

I have received a written offer for a Bilingual Account Manager for a large pharma company in Toronto. 70k with 7% performance based bonus. During interviews I never set an expectation. I am meeting with HR to go over some minor details in the contract before i sign it. Would it be out of line to ask for 80k with the same bonus maximum? Has anyone worked in Sales at Samsara? I’m being interviewed for a Mid-Market position and the OTE is 170K which seems a bit low. The recruiter said most mid-market reps are making well into 200K with stock options and what not, with some top performers getting to 300K. Is this realistic because I’m not seeing that on glassdoor at all. I’m also interviewing with several other companies for similar positions targeting 220K with bases around 110K. I’m not sure I can go back to a base under 100K.

I am currently a CSR for a beverage company they provide a company vehicle but when it comes to commission if the whole team doesn’t make it to goal we do not get it. I have interviewed for a market development manager for a beverage company and they offer a 6$ per hour raise as well as a car package (pay miles and a small amount for upkeep) but I need to use my own car for the territory. I want to move up the sales career ladder but I don’t know if this is the way to do it.

Any tips for fundraising? Working in a nonprofit on the side, and the scope is a lot bigger than what I do at work usually. I’d love to talk to someone with fundraising experience.

I’m a super friendly person and love the work I do selling real estate. But I have noticed that I don’t get as many sales as others. Someone told me that more attractive people close more deals. Is that really true? I know I’m not a perfect 10, but it doesn’t seem fair for my career to suffer because of it.
