Does anyone at Rutgers know where I can find a flexible part-time job for students on campus? I only found two campus positions on handshake and haven’t heard back from either yet. I feel like there has to be a lot more out there than what I’ve seen on handshake
Something similar to the digital classroom support specialist or tech help desk would be great. I consider myself tech savvy

It's going on at my school. I have 32 students in one class and 30 students in the other. Students are not even required to wear masks. It's ridiculous!
I used to work for a district in Georgia. Unfortunately, they do not allow teacher unions.
No in Western NY students come 2 days a week so we split them up with 14 students per classroom. We are finding high school students, are staying home and participating in remote learning and not going to school. I say get your union involved.
My school would never put them all on one room. I go in Mon & Tuesday my class of 23 is split between two rooms and some of them opt to remain remote snd not come in. My sch. Cleans on Wed. And Thurs. & Friday upper grades come in and uses our same classrooms spreading h out in two rooms.
No way!
If it’s not bolted down I had it removed to make room for students. I’m working with about 4 feet in each direction. If all my kids return at the same time they most likely won’t have 4 feet.
Same here! I do t see how this is legal! At some point a line has to be drawn! Some teachers have contacted lawyers and the lawyers said that they can sue for 100 million if they contract covid. The parents in our district have no idea this is happening. If I was a patent I would be so upset.
I am growing more and more uncomfortable and so are many others. We do have unions here and I’m beginning to think they need to know what’s going on!
My school goes back on the 22nd. All the kids are 6 feet apart so only 13-15 will be in the room. Some teachers will have all remote classes, all in person classes or a hybrid model. If you have a union I suggest you talk to them. My union was helpful in making sure kids wore masks all day when the district said only for walking around but not while sitting at desks.
It's not about your comfort. You matter the least in the equation.
I believe that Georgia is a "right to work" state as well unfortunately.
Unfortunately, Louisiana is a "right to work state" and teachers have no say in negotiating for their safety.
That’s crazy ! Where’s the union?
