Honestly, the senior probably got feedback that they aren’t communicating upward enough. I just had a conversation with a senior about this earlier in the week. It’s easier to monitor engagements and see what is happening by reading the emails as they happen rather than waiting on updates from the team. Also, I can watch and see how people are engaging with each other. Are they providing clear direction? Are they giving helpful feedback? It’s a way for me to be able to provide coaching to them as well. I may not chime in on the messages directly but I will monitor them to see what is going on and if my help is needed. If I am not needed, I am happy to passively watch you all be rockstars.
Look, here's the issue. You can get to the bottom of this quickly and efficiently by having a direct conversation about it with your senior or your coach. I used to think sitcoms were stupid because an entire episode would revolve around a simple problem that could have been resolved with a 2 minute conversation. Don't let your career turn into a sitcom. Talk to your coaching team about it. If there's trouble, it's better to get ahead of it and get it squared away than let is fester while you tiptoe around the issue. Some people don't want to go to the doctor because they are afraid of what they will find out. Then too late, they find out that have Stage 3 Melanoma that could have been easily fixed if they had caught it early. We recognize that that is a bad way to manage your health, so why would you be okay with managing your career that way? On the flip side, it might be nothing. But asking Fishbowl or Reddit what they think is going on is like looking up your symptoms on WebMD. You'll convince yourself you're dying. TL:DR - Talk to your senior or coach if you're worried.
This is everything. Most of the time asking for that direct feedback will benefit not just your piece of mind but also their impression of you. Too little people ask for feedback. Though if there was a problem I worry about your senior not having that conversation directly with you. They should be providing that feedback and coaching real time to give you an opportunity to improve. But you have people that do that so it's sometimes on you to lead your own development because at the end of the day it's your career.

It’s probably just to make your senior’s superiors aware that they are actually doing their job and assigning work. In general, people take CCs way too seriously. It’s just if another person would remotely benefit from the info, then they should be CCd
True. I do that for some of my work. Especially when my manager is not fully engaged in what’s happening. If it really bothers you, definitely talk to your senior about it.

If you think there’s any truth to the rumor about your efficiency/utilization, set up a meeting with your senior to see if there’s any tips on how you can be more efficient. This shows that you’re aware of the issue and you’re being proactive in trying to solve it. Ideally they would just be up front with you and address it that way, but unfortunately things don’t always work out that way. You just have to control what you can control.

I’d follow SM2’s advice if I were you. Seems like you’re not getting the transparency you deserve and the only way you’ll get it is by being direct with your superiors (and respectful/professional, of course).
I copy my higher ups because they want to be in the loop of the project status. Its nothing to do with you specifically. Try not to dwell on this, you make yourself crazy. If you're really afraid, ask your senior about it. But otherwise you're just wasting your mental capacity on being worried over probably nothing. Take it from me - someone who frequently writes their mental capacity worrying about nothing all the effing time. :)
I do too. Everyone on my projects get cc'd. Manager, SM, director, and partner. This should always be. OP, maybe your Senior was called out for not cc'ing everyone and may have nothing to do with you.
It also could have nothing to do with you, is person assigning tasks maybe trying to run 2 engagements or close to rolling off. If I know for whatever reason I may need to take something off of someone’s plate I asked to be Cc’ed so I can jump in easily.
It's their job to keep tabs on you.
Just ask your senior. Omg I’m so frustrated by these ridiculous questions. Your senior is there to help you, this directly relates to you, use this as an opportunity to figure out what’s going on instead of listening to rumors. How can there even be a rumor about utilization issues. The second you heard that you should have checked in
OP, could very well be a passive aggressive play too. I hope not. Good luck.
It’s pretty much to give u a bad review later and not have to explain everything to management.
This is what I’m afraid of
You should ask why he is copying them
Just ask them. I usually do it show the manager and Senior manager above me that I'm effectively delegating tasks. It has nothing to do with the staff at all.
