I would ask her how involved she'd like you to get and remind her that you're trustable & all open ears when she wants to talk.
Growing up I went through sh*t I had to handle myself and although it made me tough I would have loved to be reassured that there was someone looking out for me, I would have had far fewer scars
Let her figure it out it’s a part of growing up. Just try to pay attention to the line between the ‘mean girl’ highschool attitude she is facing and make sure it doesn’t cross over into malice (i.e comments like ‘kill yourself’ or any physical abuse would fall in this category)
