My sister just bought her first house and needs to show up first thing tomorrow at inspection morning with a cashiers check for earnest deposit. Problem is that she uses an online bank that doesn’t have branches. Anyone have a advice?

I imagine she must’ve had more notice to arrange for payment. Sounds like poor planning. Yikes. I hope this works out and the money order solution works!

Ask your realtor and lawyer ASAP, call them right now. They aren’t going to mess around when you don’t show up with the money.

It’s easy to get the money using my PayPal
Method. I was in the exact same position when I went to buy a new car

Can she use a Money Order? It’s essentially the same as a cashiers cheque and can get one from a convenience store like 7-11.

like

Wire transfer? Can someone give her a cashiers check from their account and she’d pay them back in a couple days?

Not sure what op means by first thing tomorrow morning, but I agree

funny

How much money are you talking about? If her bank participates in Zelle, she can transfer the money out quickly. Multiple options available .. ( transfer to someone and ask them to get the CC…. Buy from western union)

We just did a wire for it earnest deposit

This is a problem in my regular life. She should set up two PayPal accounts using 2 different email addresses (account a & account b). Connect PayPal account a to online make account. Send money via PayPal
Account a to PayPal account b (or to you or someone she trusts) withdrawal cash to account

My wife and I have 2 children. We got married young and I have handled all expenses since marriage. Long story short, now we have....

New 🐟 here! Currently make $150k, wife makes $50k. I’m an immigrant and came to the US with almost no money. Wife is a citizen but grew up poor. Neither of us really knows how to budget / plan for the future. So far I’ve just been reading articles on the internet and trying to follow general advice.

E.g. Rent and utilities is about 26% of take home.
15% goes to debt payments.
Savings about 25%.

Should I get a financial planner? How should I go about this? Idk why I’m stressed

Hey Fish - looking for some input on the following: I bought a beach rental property early on in the pandemic for 365k. In the current market, I could sell for 585-600 based on my agent and recent comps in the area. I initially bought as a long term hold but am considering cashing out for a quick buck. Otherwise I’m set to gross about $60k and net 30 this year through short term rentals. Anything I should be thinking about other than taxes and commissions?
