Has anyone done new hire meet and greets in a remote setting? If so, were they useful? What went well and what went poorly?
Still confused on moving back or not (currently subletting place to someone). What have your experiences been like? Rent worth it even though work still remote?
30-40% small businesses already shut down. 15 dollar minimum wage, 33% increase in corporate taxes, increased payroll taxes from new health plan. Yeah... good luck economy. https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/joe-bidens-15-minimum-wage-hike-would-kill-2-million-jobs-new-study-shows
What do you do when you work from home?
Hey everyone! I have been working freelance on-site for about 8 months now. My goal is to eventually find a remote freelance role. Any tips/advice that you have would be very much appreciated!
Put on Fourtet on the family speakers. Always funny when other people are exposed to what you're jamming to at work. Funny thing is, parents don't seem to hate it... yet. Next I take over the remote!
Encouraging WFH is not the same as making it mandatory. People who “take the option” of WFH will be frowned upon. Meanwhile “encouraging WFH” alleviates the liability of the agency. Don’t fall for it.
Would you rather A) have a four day work week in the office with Fridays off or B) Five day work week with only 2 days in the office and the other three remote
If firms go exclusively remote, I have zero reason to remain living near “home office”. Likelihood we’ll shift to that model, and can live wherever?
All clients need to explain conference call etiquette when WFH to their employees. So far I’ve heard people washing dishes, talking to their spouse and kids, making lunch, and playing with pets...
How much stipend Deloitte gives for work from home setup? I belive laptop will be sent. How about extra monitors, keyboard, headset etc.? I never used windows. Can I request Mac instead of windows? Can I order work table, chair etc? New experience hire, if that matters
Anyone got intros for PR director position? I am looking for candidates for a PR director role. Great agency (B Corp) - remote for now. S dot Towers at bolywelch dot com
I see a lot of posts of overworked people here but anyone underworked too now that we are remote? Anyone working just 2/3 hours a day and still getting great feedback?
Anyone have experience getting individual insurance? Thinking of getting individual dental insurance since I need $2k+ in ortho stuff that's not covered by my employer's offered plan
Prepping for Altman Solon interview with just over 3 yoe - would this align with the consultant or senior consultant level? Currently at the post-MBA level at my current firm, and am on track for engagement manager promotion in the next year. Thanks
Interested in benchmarking salaries in Risk Assurance across firms. What’s your level and base salary (excluding VC)? I’ll go first: Director and 155k
I’ve been laid off and, as I embark on my job search, I’d like to keep my marketing skills sharp. Any recommendations on must read books, or resources?
As a big4 Manager base in London, do you get a significant salary bump by moving to another big4? (Considering that salaries are largely similar b/w these firms). Also, what's the ballpark salary one should expect?
I learned the other day that Deloitte counts PTO against your chargeability. Is this common with most firms? (ACN doesn't count PTO in chargeability calculations.)
Delta announced that they’re fining unvaccinated employees $200 a month. Probably easier to just mandate vaccines for anyone who flies on their airline, but this is a good step.
I recently started at a larger software company as an AE. As I’m getting more into the process, I’m finding things odd. Like, cold calls and emails are metrics I’m judged on more than closed won business. I know that’s part of the job but it seems strange I’m judged on it so heavily. And, I seem to be the first real outside AE hire as everyone else seems to have been promoted up from SDR roles, including all of my direct management. I’m questioning if I made the right move. Stick it out or look?
How valuable is having a B4 name on the resume? Currently at a boutique and have the option to join B4 (not KPMG) or industry. Industry would pay more for the first couple years. Wondering if B4 would be the better option for the long run
Have interview with Cognizant for position of Business Intelligence, someone please help what to prepare.
General question: can you change the culture of a 4,000 personal organization in 3 months? I think you can set up a framework but real cultural change takes time. And Nov/Dec doesn’t seem like the ideal time to do it. I ask because trying to find a way to present this to my boss with proof points.
Any MBA 'consultant' hires in Accenture been denied raises because they are at the highest end of their level band? I've been denied raises 2 years in a row - so been locked into my MBA starting pay
Anyone take on an MFE instead of an MBA? Thinking about a career switch but unsure about the ROI from a consulting background
Does anyone have any study tips or can suggest a helpful study tool for the HRCI SPHR exam? I used BenchPrepHR to help me prep and took a few practice test. I took my exam last week and unfortunately did not pass. Any tips would be helpful to help me prepare to retake in a few months.
What is an expected annual base pay raise? I’m coming into a firm, post MBA, this summer, and calculating my long term finances
I have flu like symptoms, but can’t get tested for covid and getting a doc appt seems impossible. Do I basically need to wait until I’m critical or extremely sick to see someone? Any experience here?
15+ YoE with a mix of tech / analytics strategy + hands on AI/ML implementation both at boutique and Big 4 + program leadership (managing 20 - 30 person cross-functional teams). Would aiming for $350k TC be too high? What are potential exit ramps?
How much money is enough money? Interviewing with a bunch of companies but dont know how to make a tradeoff between the role and culture vs comp. How do y'all think about comp?
My ultimate future goal is to work in vulnerability management or penetration testing. Is it possible to switch to one of these roles coming from a cyber strategy background if I learn the scanning tools, linux, networking, etc in my own time? Or will nobody take a chance on me once I’m 5 years into my career? Or will they but my salary will go down significantly as I’ll kind of be a newbie again?
