So can we talk about nightmare clients!?! Omg, it’s so taxing when you’re clients are constantly exuding negative energy every time you’re on a call with them. I’m wondering if they feel the same way when deal with their partners internally.. maybe they are just channeling their internal madness!! 🆘

So I'm the only black advisor in my office and I feel so out of place. I walk into meeting early and people won't notice I'm there and everyone wears really expensive shoes and clothes. They all have their cliques and then there's just me.

I love working at the bookstore and I'm proud to work with such a large group of people from different backgrounds. I'm really happy we're all here. But it probably isn't the best idea to get someone to reshelve books when they haven't been taught how to categorize them properly. It's like I spend most of the day following one of my coworkers around and discreetly fixing what he works on. He's a great guy, very personable, but wow is it frustrating.

A guy who used to be on my team resigned a few weeks ago for another opportunity. I ran into his new boss socially and told them I was really impressed with how this guy was handling the drug bust and battling his heroine addiction during this career change. It shows real grit. That’s what wishing the best for others looks like.

A company didn’t follow through with a scheduled intro phone call. I emailed during the time scheduled to see if something had come up & after as well to reschedule. How do you all *actually* set boundaries at work, especially during busy season? There’s a lot of advice out there about making appointments for any personal plans (workouts, dinner, etc.) and treating them as you would work appointments, but then you get the pings “hey we just got comments from the partner on XYZ, can you address them asap?” And pushing back on that for other stuff that’s not an emergency would get frowned upon. I feel like I’m running myself ragged - senior if that’s helpful

How do I leave my role as someone on the talent team. I am on a small recruitment team of only a few people, who connect daily. I am also responsible for sending out updates tracking new hires and upcoming leavers (aka I would be on this list if i decide to leave).
