Interesting read. I had no idea this was happening until a friend from FL told me it saved a friend's life and had him go from sick to golfing rapidly. Interesting read.

Keep yourself and your marriage #1. Compromise and bring some things home. Your classroom does not have to look perfect, your students will still love it because they love you! I think that as much as I love Pinterest, too many teachers feel that they need Pinterest perfect classrooms!
You’re killing yourself for a job that would replace you in a week. Take care of yourself and your family first
One compromise we made in our family is that I spend one late night per week at the school. The rest of the time, I bring things home or just let it go. Things that have to get done always seem to get done, and things that don't really matter don't happen. It works out. Best wishes to you both! And it does get easier with time!
Marriage and family priority #1. When homebase is solid you will even more on fire for your class.
Work smarter not harder. It's ok for your lesson to not be picture perfect or anything. It's okay if your worksheet doesn't look like it's straight from a company. It's okay if you didn't finish putting in those silly quiz grades. Sometimes you have to just stop and say I'll finish tomorrow. Learn to stop in the middle of something. You'll come back refreshed and working better the next day. Is your job worth sacrificing your marriage?
Whatever is most important to you.
On one hand you have a job where you're replaceable...
On the other a man who swore dedication and devotion to you...
If you choose the former, don't be shocked or upset at him if he leaves you.. I would leave someone like that..
Sorry for being harsh, even perhaps rude.
You will NEVER get “caught up”. I’ve been teaching for 23 years and it wasn’t until about 5 years ago that I have resisted going in on the weekends. (Unless ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY!!). There will always be something to do, but do not gave your family time suffer.
Marriage # 1. Ask for parent helpers for school work. Parents actually love to help.
Keep you and your family first. We love our students so hard that sometimes it's easy to forget our loved ones at home (ask me how I know✋). If he's asking/complaining about you spending too much time at work, listen and respect his feelings. After working on weekends my first 3 years of teaching, I made a commitment to myself to stop. I have felt much better at work and home ever since
Balance. Balance is my mantra. My first and second year I almost killed myself working at school all hours and at home all hours for teacher life and my home life was suffering. I’ve learned to balance you’ve got to take care of your family. Remember it’s just a job. You’ll never get the never ending to do list done.
My personal thought is weekends are for you. I’d rather stay late during the week than lose my weekend. It also helps that my district doesn’t allow me that option to go in on the weekend!
ZipGrade app and Google Classroom have helped me manage time better.
It is difficult to find a balance but you have to make you and your family #1 priority.
