Haha, that is hilarious. For real though, this time of year, it can really seem like that with everything going on!

Let's laugh a little :D

Maybe you are trying too hard, thinking you have the power to control everything, you don't. Just relax and roll with it and you'll do just fine!

Thank you for your suggestion

I am currently in Wipro having CTC as 7.8 LPA.. I have got an offer from TCS which is 11LPA.However, my Basic Pay/Fixed compensation is getting reduced from my current base pay in the new offer and also the HRA is getting reduced. The HR is telling that the basic is fixed as per policy and they cannot change it. The base pay is less but there are several other components which are higher. Should I take up the new offer? Please help. Will the reduction in base pay impact my career?

It’s your idea. You’ve put in all the work but get a new job and aren’t there for production/edit/launch. Is there a right/wrong way to put it in your book?

Have you ever had a female friend non accountant , who is making way more than you less educated (which hey seriously good for them) talk about working their butt off and that’s why they reached certain Income level. Part of you is thinking “uh no you didn’t” haha sounds harsh but .. I kinda feel that way.
Conversation was brought up because one of our other gal pal friends is struggling with wanting to make a career change at 30 and money. My friend is just being super unsympathetic.

Can you guys advise me if a salary of 150 K CAD before tax is good for a 3 member family? It is in Quebec and we will be shifting from India to Canada with that.

Was your interest in STEM or in pursuing a career in STEM ever discouraged? If you could, would you go back and rub it in that person's face?

Hello, I’m a Senior Software Engineer with over 17 years of experience. Primarily worked with the Microsoft tech stack, but also worked with Java and Python. If you know of any opportunities please feel free to reach out. Thanks!

SO beyond frustrated with my work environment I think it may be time to leave for good. I returned from maternity leave after 4 years of working at my very old-school, boys club, nepotism-friendly company. The number of remarks I got on my appearance, my pregnancy and etc was a little annoying before I left, but since I've come back it's been nothing but comments on how they can't believe I'm leaving my husband home with the baby etc. Sorry for the long post just needed to vent!!

Can anyone help me?
I’m 25 and have an array of experience within environmental science. I mostly enjoy being a field employee but recognize the pay is not always great. My current position is bureaucratic and technically oriented which is great for skills but not for growth. I know I have more to offer and want to expand into different areas of STEM. Any suggestions or recommendations would help, I’m open to anything!

If you work somewhere that you would say actually has a positive/inclusive/safe culture for women especially: what are the specific things or people that make it that way? If not - why not?

Hello All!

I am a graduate of Suffolk University, and I recently received my masters in Business Analytics. I am currently pursuing a career as an IT Business Analyst at MSU Denver, which I have the 30min first round interview scheduled for Tuesday, November 29th.

If anyone is or was previously employed as an analyst at MSU Denver, would you mind providing some insight into the culture, the interview process, salary information, etc. I would truly appreciate any help as this is a role I want

What, if anything, can be done to increase and encourage female representation in hired STEM positions? For example, should female and other minority employees have input on your companies yearly class of interns or new hires? Do you think women are underrepresented in STEM because of societal standards or because we have to fight harder to get hired? Having a bit of a debate with a coworker over solutions.

Hi all! I’m an engineer working in the global health space and I’m finding it’s a small, small pool. I also just found out that a new hire (male, also an engineer) is the reason I got a raise after ~5 years of stagnancy. I love my job, but it’s time to move on. Anyone who’s worked in nonprofit spaces - did you stay? Did you switch to consulting/government/etc or go corporate? I’ve been applying without much response, and I’m debating whether a PMP very or masters is going to be necessary.

As proud as my family is of my career and accomplishments, I think my mother would honestly be happier or just as happy if I had no degree, a husband, and several children (I'm 29). She doesn't expressly say it but the "don't you get lonely?" comments speak for themselves.

I’m getting a new boss and I get to interview them. What kind of questions should I prioritize?
