Fellow 🐠, recently laid off while on H1B. Married my partner who is a US Citizen. As I understand it, I have a 60 day grace period from date of termination to apply for new jobs and begin visa transfer through employer. However, going to begin AoS for marriage based GC. EYers who got the Greencard (EB-2) via PERM: 1) is/can EY file i-140 & i-485 in parallel with a valid visa? 2) can you pay out of pocket for i-140 premium processing? If so, did you benefit from it if i-485 still takes 6m on average (I would only see a benefit if EY refuses parallel filing of i-140/485 Asking because of delays/backlog at DOL & I only have a valid visa until end of 2022 (max date).
