Currently feeling like I’m being way underpaid for my role as a tech Project Manager in Austin, TX. Can any other PMs weigh in and let me know your salary ranges? I have 2 YOE with Cisco and 2.5 YOE prior to that, yet I’m only at $75k. Wanting to ask for a raise soon so just looking to get an idea as to what others are making.
Does anyone bring a vibrator to client site ?
When the Partner who told you they would staff you on a project doesn’t reply to your emails…

@creative resource managers/creative services mgr. when your freelancers finish your project, ask them how it went, or send an email with a short survey. Just as you ask staffers to rate freelancers.
What’s it like in strategic client success roles at SaaS companies? Looking at a role that seems more focused on customer growth strat with the product more so than retention/customer churn focus
If you’re an analyst and ur project doesn’t want to give u OT, isn’t that illegal? Should I go to HR?
Downside to consulting: When one of your favorite bands is coming to town and playing in your favorite music venue and you can’t go because you’re at a client site. 😢
Left consulting to industry ~4 months ago. It was a tough adjustment in the beginning but I’m in a spot where I finally feel more comfortable. The hours are better than consulting (but not as good as my fed consulting experience) and people are helpful and super smart. My old company was bought by GDIT (federal contract) and my old team lead reached out to see if I was interested in coming back. I loved that team/client, and the hours were amazing (had 9/80 schedule too). But..continued below.
Does anyone know what Gunderson’s ppp and rpl are? I know that they give their associates some info: Want to know how stable the firm is, especially given its client base. Considering a move there.
Does anyone work for McKinsey within their Digital Arm as an architect? I was told this would be on the expert path. Can anyone tell me how the project dynamics would differ? Another thread I read mentioned that experts are utilized across multiple projects. True?
You ever feel like you're just failing to excel in consulting? Today and yesterday have been really hard to tap into any discipline to push past whatever brain fog/lack of motivation is preventing me from making progress on this project. I don't know if I'm just tapped out or not cut out for this type of intensity, but I'm 1.5 yrs into consulting after working in industry and this seems to happen too often. I just don't feel like I'm as good as my peers and don't know that I can get there.
Went from federal > commercial consulting last year. Never had much experience in having to roll on/off projects. Do you get anxiety in the search for and roll onto a new project? What’s the best way to deal with it? Did you get accustomed to it over time?
This is my first time working with a client using the COSO framework. Before elevating my inquiry to my seniors, I would like to confirm my understanding of how this exercise works. Prior working papers are telling me that client should establish its compliance with the five components of the framework, correct? How rigid should I be in performing this? To be fair, I was provided with a reading material but it’s a pretty hefty read. Thanks for any responses! Deloitte
Where to go with 160k Marriott points?😎 Was thinking Florida for a week or Cayman Islands for 4 days. Any other tips? Based in cold lockeddown 🇨🇦
Just giving a bit of Gyan to fellow fishers Please please do not ever use CTC comparison between current and next company. If you get an offer, do an in hand calculation. Some companies add Retirals like Employer PF, Gratuity along with Insurance, furniture allowance as part of your CTC. Others don't. Sone also have higher variable package. So when you do a CTC delta you may get a 20% hike but when you discount the above things you will fall short and may end up making less. So choose wisely.

For those of you who work in an internal role (procurement, billing, contracts, HR, etc), does your firm base pay on location or is salary the same regardless of locale?
At what point should we worry about low GRE or GMAT scores for a target school? Like does 5 points below median GRE mean “you don’t have a shot” or are you “safe” as long as you’re in 80% range and have an interesting story/decent GPA?
New to the team. One of my juniors on an engagement I am sort of leading don’t seem to respect me and probably dislikes me. He’s has an existing relationship with the client and (Cont..)

I want to move to NYC so that means a new job search. I wonder how people prepare for their portfolio while your work is owned by your current company. Do you recreate some of those work and explain in your case study? And, how much of salary do you need in NYC as still a junior level UX/UI designer? YOE in UX/UI field: 2 years and 3 years of some other design experiences.
I’m curious of everyone’s views on job hopping. I’m on my 3rd job and have ~3 years of sales experience. Each job change has been an increase in comp and has shown clear career progression. At this point I’m working for a well known public company in SaaS, in their SMB segment, which has been great. But I’ve been approached by a smaller startup offering to double my base salary, 2.25x my OTE, and equity for an enterprise rep position. This is very enticing, but would I look like a job hopper?
Hey New York City, I was told to keep the heat on in winter even when I am not home to avoid pipe getting frozen. I have to travel for a month, the weather forecast shows some15 degrees days are coming, my building has no super, what do I do now?
Looking to work somewhere where I can be more passionate about the work I am doing and Spotify & Coinbase seem like good starting points. I’m curious if theres anyone on here who’s jumped from consulting to either of these companies and what their experience has been like? I’ve only ever worked at Deloitte so want to get an idea of what I could expect. I’ve heard coinbase is pretty tough hours (with good pay) and Spotify is more laid back (with not so good pay) - 8 yr Mgr at Deloitte
My comp talk this year is titled "compensation and career discussions." Probably reading into the last part too much but that isn't anything to be worried about, right?
For those of you with unlimited PTO, how many weeks out of the year would you say you’re on PTO?
