Grub hub (or equivalent) vouchers and a 15 minute meeting where you just thank them and remind them of their impact of your clients?
I've done surprise Starbucks or other e-gift cards that are emailed. They're always appreciated and who wouldn't love free coffee or lunch at their leisure?! The fact that you're showing appreciation at all is much more than most managers or team leads so kudos to you!
You have to pay or put in the work. For example, virtual escape room or personalized jeopardy
Fair enough, and I do put together events etc. ☺️
I'm thinking more along the lines of simple alternatives to the impromptu box of bagels I would have purchased during a busy week when we worked together in person.
Maybe mailing them a written thank you note, or dedicating a few mins to calling out and celebrating wins during a team meeting. I could create a special award/title that can be voted on and awarded in the group each week? It all sounds cheesy to me, but looking for small ways to liven things up.
I do little victories and gratitudes at every team meeting
We did “superlatives” during our end of year meeting and it was cheesy, but fun! We had about 30 people and I’m not sure how it’d play with a smaller group. I ended up printing off a certificate for everyone that was mentioned in a particular category (in part because of our voting system, but also so that smaller teams/newer people would still see they’re leaving a good impression).
We also did a box of cookies and cocktail mixers from restaurants local to HQ, but the quick shipping to ensure quality really added up for a national team (100+ in some cases).
I think virtual gift cards would be much less painful, but still impactful.
One way to engage is adding an online game show to the end of your meetings. It would be a link everyone signs into and you choose the questions. Everyone answers at the same time and winner(s) get a prize.
