Took an offer from a Plaintiffs PI firm. Leaving Insurance Defense. No more billables. More money. I dont think its any longer the case in todays hot legal market that you make more money on the defense side unless you sell your soul to big law. Point is, anyone that is thinking of making a move, do it now. It may not always be this red hot. (Remember 2009-2013 legal market). Hoping that the grass is greener on the other side.😉

I have been at my company for a little less than 4 years now. I’ve had the third highest sales last year out of a team of 50 and consistently the highest outbound calls per week. They told me I can start WFH once I hit $1mil in profit, but then rescinded right before I hit the goal. They have also denied simpler request like time off, when I know they have approved this before for others. I feel super unappreciated, but the money is great. I’ve been with my current company for just over 6 months as a BDR. (3 yrs prior sales experience, but this is my first tech role.)
Even though it meant starting at the bottom, I took this role for the opportunity it would provide, as my previous industry didn’t have growth potential.
A role just opened up on a CSM team that would be a much better fit— the official policy is that you stay in your role for 12 months before moving. Should I apply for the CSM opening anyway? What would you do?

So an opportunity has come to me by simply switching gym LinkedIn profile to open to work. It’s very ideal to the pay I want to be making and similar to the work I already do. My hesitance is that I really love the people I work with in my current role. Should I approach my a manager/HR with my pay issues and see if they can meet me or move on?
