At what point did you decide to quit your job to focus all your efforts on your startup? Was it before revenue? Before funding? I'm about a month into working on my startup, and it's all I want to do. I love having a guaranteed salary and healthcare, but I dread doing any client work. I'm not planning on leaving anytime soon (still have nothing to show on the startup) but I'd like to hear what people think about the transition.
Curious to hear what solutions your organisation (or your client) is implementing to entice people back to the office? I've seen some companies offering free breakfasts for non-peak days (Monday or Friday), or free yoga classes....but I'm keen to hear another other examples you've seen or heard. Examples can be prior to Omicron, as that seems to put a dampener on organisations looking to return to the office.
Are there pros and cons of reporting migration metrics by application vs servers? (Assuming client does not have a preference) When would you choose one over another? Would love to get the opinions of cloud migration experts on this.
How has Covid impacted your fringe benefits? Travel perks (miles, points, per diem, meals, client events, etc.) we’re a major selling point in joining my firm. Our travel has been all but slashed, but I’m not seeing any consolidations to make up for these lost benefits.
Any tableau experts know of quick ways to write a bunch of case when statements? Unfortunately, I think my client uses an older version where you can’t use “IN” like in SQL
Is it just me or does Highdive only hire male copywriters/CDs? The diversity on their creative team is 1. Very whitewashed and 2. Extremely male dominant. Sad to see.
How about job stability at PWC AC ? Will they ask to leave in case we are not able to find or get allocated to a project within 3 months of joining?
Our son started daycare at the beginning of the month right as I returned to work after a very extended leave. I joined a new project on my 2nd week back but haven’t been able to contribute in any meaningful way because my son keeps getting sent home with different daycare bugs and random fevers and we don’t have family nearby to watch him, so I end up having to watch him all day. I don’t know if it’s too early to feel discouraged, but I’ve been questioning my decision to return (cont’d)
A client of mine in Los Angeles is looking to hire 340B Pharmacist and 340B Analyst FTEs - DM me if you are interested. Thanks!
How is it at the BDO Boston office? Is there diversity in people and what is usually the number one complaint?
For those of you who have been in FDD for a while....how do you stay motivated? I will have days where the admin and QOE work just gets so mundane. What keeps me going is the client consulting/advisor aspect. Would love to know for those of you that stay what drives you and those who are looking to leave what kind of roles you are exploring.
As someone with ADHD, the impulsive side of me speaks up in meetings without fully processing the information. Then when corrected, I beat myself up for the rest of the day. What has ended up happening over time is that I have started to come off as an introvert (because of the fear of being wrong) and also with low confidence. This is not a good trait in client facing roles where we are constantly making recommendations and clients look up to us. Anyone else deal with this?
"I am sorry. I checked the bags that contains the fucks I give about this client, and it's empty."
If your project role is Product Manager but your company role is Consultant, which do you put on your resume?

What stage of being black at work are you? (When viewed by others). Physical threat? Suspicious? Diversity hire? Aggressive? Uppity? Accepted?

We booked an beautiful 2 week honeymoon in Bali right before Covid hit. The trip has been postponed twice. Our travel agent thinks we should be able to make it this year, but Bali’s covid restrictions are strict (currently a 10 day quarantine is required upon entry). We are slowly accepting that Bali may not happen anytime soon but we can choose another spot through the travel agency. Curious if anyone here has any recs of places?!

Hello fishes ! About to be offered a position at Deloitte London as SC. Exp : ~9. Visa sponsorship is needed. I foresee a possible negotiation on compensation from Deloitte. Not sure of the estimate yet but I understand it would be 55-60k as per other fishes . Should I settle for a lower comp while employer pays one time sponsorship & migration costs or bear the migration costs self and chase a good salary . Which is better ? Note : moving to UK with spouse and kid
How important is PhD in advancing in Accenture Applied Intelligence or relevant ? I have seen many people in high levels hold a PhD.
Bought a house to renovate and airbnb. The final numbers are edging an upside down investment. Should I: 1.) Keep it, push through the initial investment and start making short-term rental money to pay down the debt or until selling it for a higher profit seems doable - whichever comes first 2.) sell it as is (demoed condition) and try to make some kind of profit (keep in mind capital gains tax). I feel like I’ve hit analysis paralysis because of the renovation numbers. HELP!
