My problem is I hate to lie and my face can easily reveal that I am lying.
How do you guys handle such a scenario?
- fairly decent place to work (from someone who worked with the Vancouver and San Jose offices). never met a blue badger (permanent employee) who had awful things to say.
- Ashley Goodall (their SVP, Methods & Intelligence) co-authored a brilliant book on leadership and people management called “Nine Lies About Work” that makes me believe they can be an awesome place to work
- red badgers had low morale since they’re contract workers and can be terminated at any time

What setting do you work in? How many years experience and what is your hourly wage? I have 10 years experience, and am a CLT and I was getting paid $25.93/hr in a SNF and I think I was getting low balled. I am applying for new positions and want to make sure I am requesting high enough, but not too high. Thanks!
Anyone here who has relocated to Goldman Sachs in SLC can help me in answering some questions related to their relocation allowance? Thanks,

I am planning to move to San Jose and looking out for salary range offered to audit seniors. I am in the middle of my CPA and just need to pass one more paper. Also I have audit senior experience with EY as contractor for 5 months and 3 years of Audit Senior experience with a mid size audit firm based in houston. Since San Jose is overly priced, I would like to get an estimate that how much EY offers in that location.
Does anybody have experience with social clubs like Little Beach House Malibu, Jonathan Club, and San Vicente Bungalows? I just moved here from OC and don’t have any friends yet. I was thinking that I could at least hang out somewhere cool… are the clubs worth the money?
Hey guys! I am an all-around markeeer with 2 YOE in my tech company. I'd like to become a freelancer and work mainly on SEA. Did anyone of you made the switch from in-house to freelance? Also, I know the basics of search engine advertising, but never actually got to work on it, just studied for the Google certifications. Do you have any tips on how to start and grow a client base?
Ugh. Since Uber changed their policies to try to head off CA employment laws, it is now impossible for me to get an Uber Black from LAX. Since I live close, no driver wants to take the trip.
Looking to move to San Antonio and we're looking at places in Alta Vista and El Dorado. Pros and cons? We have two kids under five, so looking for a nice family community with good schools.
A shout-out to the timely, engaging, and relevant work created by Grab in-house for the SEA region. It should be awarded creative advertiser of the year.
Have SIL's coming in mid Aug and I live in San Diego and I am in search of nice contemporary patio furniture. (Siblings In Laws)
Relocating from Chicago to San Francisco. Better to apply as Junior Editor with a handful of clients or experienced AE?
Current program manager in a hospital looking to apply to a project manager role at Salesforce in SEA. Anyone out there with suggestions/recommendation/willing to refer? Thanks in advance!!
Hey, work at Big 4 in San Diego office doing fin services - want to move into something techish related in San Diego. Any thoughts?
Moving to San Diego in the spring from the central coast. Any recs on places to live (late 30’s with a kid)? Want to be close to restaurants and things to do, but a little too old and tired for gas lamp!
What’s an easy word you never spell correctly on the first try? Mine’s guard. Or guarantee. That damn A and U
How do you keep your spirits up after multiple rejections in interviews? Over the last year I have gotten to ELEVEN final interviews with big firms but I can’t seem to close the deal! In the interview and after they ALL seem to like me but the offer never comes. My tank is running low and I no longer have any energy to apply or pursue opportunities. How do you do this? Are these Mansfield interviews only? Am discouraged....
Looking for solid bridesmaid dress recommendations with a good color, design, and size range!

Anyone familiar with Harry Browne or read this book?
Considering a move to NTT Data in a healthcare consulting role. Mixed reviews in the bowls. Major concerns are bench policy, staff aug roles, 2 week PTO, and high turnover due to job dissatisfaction. Recruiter and mgr had great things to say around growth and opportunity, which doesn’t align with feedback from the bowls or Glassdoor.
Understanding things have changed there in the last few months, I need un-biased advice from fellow fish who have recently joined or can speak to recent changes
I have a client that is terrible. Their whole company is in flux, massive scope creep & one of the people at the company is highly verbally abusive.
But it’s also a retainer that is stable & pays well (and im not sure if I can backfill them easily right now between all of the tech layoffs & the upcoming holidays).
I’d love any advice - im leaning towards firing them & hoping things work out (because my mental health > $$$), but am nervous because the job market isn’t exactly humming.
How many clients a month do you retain and what percentage of consults engage you? Any tips for increasing these numbers?
Currently in ibanking as an associate and want to see if I can make the move to PE. Is the CAIA viewed favorably at all?
How can I cross check my current pay is industrial standard or not? Any recommended website?
May I know the office location for Deloitte India Pune? Is it the same for both Deloitte USI & India or it is different for both? I see many comments/posts about Kharadi location but in Deloitte India it is showing as Senapati Bapat road and there is no address shown in Deloitte USI website.
P.S. I will soon join Deloitte India.

Happy Fathers Day to all of the fathers on Fishbowl. How is everyone celebrating with their fathers today?
This morning I heard on NPR that according to some scientists, we're on a trajectory for a resurgence of covid this fall. Ugh! So sick of bad news :( anyone have some good news to share?

Why do I keep feeling like I have to prove to parents that I'm highly educated and an expert in teaching their children? It's so insulting!
I got a bad observation. He said one of my students were not awake and lively on Zoom. Ugh. What? I see teachers that take 30-50 days off some working 2 days a week days. They get perfect marks. I can't even look my principal in the face now.
Which of these books have you read? Which have your students enjoyed? https://www.instagram.com/p/CBCFWhDo9wq/
We have a community garden down the street that our students have started growing vegetables at. Since they started the project, they're eating healthier and have a better understanding of ecology and biology.
I had 8 conferences scheduled this evening and 3 parents were a no-show. I just find it so disrespectful and I feel it sends the wrong message to kids when the parents don’t care enough to show.
When I talk to my friends in other industries, it seems like they have a lot more invested in their retirement accounts. I wonder if I'm doing something wrong.
Does anyone else feel like the tragedy of this past year is that our profession went from a passion to just another job? And you are questioning more than ever if the benefits aren’t worth the cost? A normal year is tiring and we need our breaks for our health. This past year has spent our reserves and put us in debt. How do we take back the passion and own the profession as we transition back to yet another new normal?
We're done with our last unit and the kids have worked really hard. Now I'm at a loss about what to do with them these next two days that is fun, creative, yet educational. I teach social studies.
Does anyone else find that their students have a hard time understanding old classics? I tried reading "The Mouse and Motorcycle" and my kids found it boring and difficult.
