My ultimate goal is to be the CEO of a big tech company (think Netflix, Amazon, Google, etc.) I’m currently working on Salesforce implementations and don’t know how to speed my career arc. Any advice?

Find a multi billion dollar market, start a company to disrupt it, take company public, and boom you’ll be there before you know it. Good luck OP! Don’t forget the little people/fish!

You are going about this the wrong way. You have to create the next Netflix, Amazon, Google.

Set short term goals to achieve your long term goals, this is the number 1 thing my coach has taught me. Short term goals can be anywhere from 1 quarter to 1 year and ruthlessly work to achieve it- be bold at this short-term stage, you won’t even know what you’ll be doing in 2-3 years, leave along 5-10 years later (Netflix might not even exist). Be exceptionally strong technically (yes selling will be critical at a M level, but know what you’re doing), you can’t just talk big. Last but not the least, build executive presence/learn to be charismatic- own the stage even if you’re talking to high-schoolers

And there’s a reason I didn’t mention leave consulting and jump to start-up/ disrupt etc., cos these things will happen naturally once you’ve started achieving your short term goals, the maturity will guide your next step

Worked at startups in past, not at kpmg anymore, moved to a different startup. Go work at a startup. You will get skills to run your own biz on someone else’s dime. You also gotta ask yourself, do you want to run someone else’s biz or are you going to start something yourself?

Invent something nobody else has thought of before that can rake in gobs of cash; then bring the boys to the yard because it’s better than theirs. Rinse. Repeat

Steve Jobs didn’t write any code. Find a computer nerd to do that for you. But what’s your idea !?!
