My US visa has been approved during the interview but my visa status is administrative processing. What does that mean?

No reason to worry, once they approve you for a visa - you get it - it just may take a few days.

like

They are still printing and stamping. dont worry, it will be fine.

All approvals go through the "administrative processing" phase before the "issued" state. Sometimes the status only lasts a day, sometimes it lasts 4-5 days.

It’s fine it just means they are stamping your passport.

It should take 3 weeks at max but for some people there is a possibility that it can extend to 60 days. Good luck

Masters (nonMBA) from an Ivy, 2 years audit with some special projects at a Big4, 1yr of advisory at another Big4. CPA. Have plenty of experience in SQL, Tableau and willing to get certifications if it’ll help my case at all. Would applying for Accounting/Financial Analyst positions asking for 4-5YOE be a stretch? I got an offer from another company asking for 5 YOE when I was at 2.5 a while back but I am wondering if Google is strict on these requirements due to the prestige?

Applying to roles within the same federal agency. I know you need one year within the probationary period, but can I apply to a higher GS level? For example, if I'm GS 9, receive a promotion to GS 11 at the end of probation, would i be able to apply to GS 13 roles if I'm qualified? Tried researching this for hours but only found info on applying to other agencies.

Currently making 100 base. Was asked during an interview what it would take and I said 140. They came back with 145. I was initially excited but now I think I lowballed myself. Should I have held out and made them give me the range?

Good Morning. Here's my dilemma. I have an approved H1B application which got picked up in 2019-20 lot and approved in Jan 2020, before the world went into lockdown. The stamping process was initiated but it couldn't complete as the USCIS offices were shutdown die to the pandemic. I have watched patiently about all the regulations Trump Administration brought in to deny any entry to H1B applicants who weren't already working in the states or who were waiting to return.

Do any firms give you “billable time” equivalent for taking vacation or time off? I think it’s kinda scammy that firms offer “unlimited pto” but still expect you to meet your hours without giving any hours equivalent for that PTO time you took. In reality, you’re not really taking PAID time off because you’ll have to make up those hours at some point in the year anyway.

I recently accepted an offer at a startup. Slated to start in 6-8 weeks. I am even more excited about the space now. I obviously realize it’s totally unethical to negotiate now. But would it be acceptable to ask to shift some cash (base) into options (equity) at equivalent value if possible (keep all-in the same)? Want to have more skin in the game if it’s possible.

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks
