My company is adopting Scrum and hiring a bunch of agile coaches to assist with sprints. We got assigned our agile coach that'll be starting soon.

I read a description of what this role is supposed to be for and it sounds like they'll be leading Scrum ceremonies. So they run the planning meeting, the retrospective and daily stand ups. Up to now, I've been doing those and it's taken a total of like 2 hours a week of my time.

What on earth do agile coaches do with the other 95% of their time?

I have offer letter from IBM. IBM HR is continuously calling and asking to join 'Know your IBM' session. Is it a compulsion to join the session before joining the company? If i join the 'Know your IBM' session, would it be compulsory to join IBM further?

5 years away from Reserve retirement. O3, O4 in 1-2 years. Retire as an O4. Anyone else been sticking it out and at the firm? Feel like it's going to be hard. I almost got out, but then when I stopped seeing the extra $600 a month, and realized what I would be losing with free healthcare and a pension...just doesn't seem like it's the best move to get out. Start grad school next year too. My commander is awesome and the unit is flexible, which is why I think I could stay. Just don't want it to hurt my consulting career. Thoughts?

I’m a department head and need to frequently interact with a male head of a different department. When he’s busy and stressed he can be quite rude, but only to our female staff. No one does anything about this because he brings in a lot of business. Today he was rude to me to the point where I’m really upset and I’m not generally sensitive. My company was just acquired by a private equity firm. We’ve been around for 25+ years and have been a public company. They say “business as usual” for now, and I feel like the product I work in is pretty safe. I also received direct, positive feedback from the company’s COO surrounding my leadership. Tips on how to deal with my direct report, the CMO, that won't honor the bonus structure in my offer letter? Over the last 2 months he's come to me with 2 re-negotiations, both lower than the original. I've countered saying I'll accept a lower bonus structure if my base is raised. I’m about to start a new job and I’m NERVOUS. I love my current GM, location and staff. But the owner is a nightmare. Nothing I do is right for her. She has a complaint about everything I do. She speaks to me like I’m stupid in front of many people. But I’m still nervous. I strongly believe that sometimes the devil you know is better than the devil you don’t know. What if I’m going into a worse situation? Do I stay in this bad one or risk a possible worse one? I guess I wont know unless I try.
