Need some encouragement on weaning. My baby is almost 11 months and I enjoy nursing but I do feel like it keeps me distracted during the day. I am struggling emotionally to begin the weaning process. I enjoy the time with her and am sad about the possibility of losing that (and also taking away her comfort prematurely) but I’m over scheduling breastfeeding or pumping sessions during the work week. I feel like this is preventing me from being a better worker. How did you emotionally do it?!

Hi Moms- Curious to get a sense of what your different parental leave policies look like and how you have liked them. My company gave 12 weeks paid and I felt it was woefully short for my first. Before having my second, I'm interested in pushing my company to increase the time and am curious to hear what other companies offer. Beyond just the time, was your company flexible? Is it the same for all parents? Did it feel like enough? Thank you!

Need some help (!!) from the women who work in tech in this bowl. The company I work for has a parental leave policy that is only 2 weeks paid leave (pretty sad..) I am proposing we update this to be more competitive. I need other companies that are: 1. US policies 2. Funding under 200 million (not big tech)If anyone is aware of policies that would be helpful in my argument please message me or drop a comment below with: 1. Name of start-up 2. Amount of current funding 3. Parental leave policy.

Elon Musk says 'civilization is going to crumble' if people don't have more children. How is this true? Isn’t overpopulation the root cause of almost all our problems, specifically things like climate change, lack of housing, and traffic? I feel like a global one child policy would make the world lot better, it would reduce humanities total carbon footprint.

Hi, I joined Deloitte USI on November 8. I believe that I will be eligible for hike for June 2022 (on pro-rated basis). Can you please suggest how to go about raising a snapshot? Is snapshot mandatory to be eligible for hike? I see that the final snapshot deadline is Dec 10, but my project is just getting started now. Not sure how can I take this up with my project manager, looks too early to ask for such things. Please suggest.

What kind of signing bonuses are litigation associates able to get when lateraling currently? I know corporate is more desperately in demand than litigation, but I've seen some signing bonuses for litigation. Class of 2018. Also, I remember seeing a recruiter sometime ago whose model was to share part of their fee with the associate (sort of like a rebate real estate agent). I can't seem to find anyone like that on Google now, so I'm wondering if anyone has any leads on that.

I am very torn and I need some help: I currently work for a US consulting company (big4) and have an opportunity to go work for a European one (different company, big4). Normally that would be a no-brainier - go work in Europe, however the pay is more than half of what I make in the US (with some perks such as a company car, pension,..) and based on this, I have a dilemma… Note: it’s normal for consulting salaries to be low in Europe, but the city I’ll be going is just as expensive as mine now..

They also wanted us to pay upfront before any procedure is done. That seems very sketchy to us, so we’re looking to get second opinion and switch office. TIA!
