You should be good. It doesn't seem like we'll transition to a strict lockdown that quickly, but don't be surprised if businesses ask you to keep your mask on.

Stuff is pretty open, I’d keep a mask on you though for any indoor stuff!

Be prepared to show proof of vaccination - most places require it. You can always find places that don't though

like

Some restaurants are asking for proof. More and more will. Broadway, The Met Opera are all going to be for the vaxxed only. Life is going to shrink down for those who aren’t vaccinated and to that I say—good.

I’ve continued to wear my mask indoors if just shopping etc.. some restaurants still ask you to wear until seated but I would expect that to be the extent of it. Would be really surprised to lockdown hard in 4 days.

I still wear a mask most places indoors unless in the actual process of eating. In most stores it seems most people still wear them. On the subway and bus, you’re still required. I haven’t seen anything close recently though.

I’d say most wear masks inside unless actively eating/drinking but there’s really nothing shut down - just bring your masks and you will be good. Some clubs and venues are requiring evidence of vaccination I’ve heard but I haven’t personally been to such places since reopening. Plenty of restaurants and bars open though - you’ll have a great time! Also tons of beautiful outdoor dining and live music.

I grew up here and have to warn you that the city is definitely not back to normal yet. It is maybe 20% of the way there. The main reason for this is that people are still working from home so the usual crowds haven’t returned yet. Also there are no foreign tourists (or very, very few), many businesses have defaulted, clubs and nightlife are not yet open, sports, Broadway, concerts, events etc are still closed. Just an FYI. Yes there are restaurants and shops open but that’s about it. You barely see yellow cabs around now. The usual NYC energy is not even half of what it used to be and it may not return to 100% for several years.

Currently the only thing that would require a mask is going to a museum from my experience. That being said nyc seems to be just following cdc guidelines so if those tighten back up I would assume masks indoors would be the first step. I wouldn’t worry about indoor dining closing or anything that rash, not by thursday.

I don’t wear a mask anywhere never been asked to put it on and only asked for my vax card once

Some stores require masks, but it is not common by any means. There is no broad plan to go back to Covid restrictions. The governor said “we cannot go back” today.

The city is fully opened, enjoy! Masks mandatory on all transportation and some public venues like museums etc

Yeah you’re good. Nothing is closed, but do keep your mask with you as you may need to put it on some places.

DLaunch (new hire orientation) is returning to in-person soon. I have a chance to give feedback to leadership- if you were a virtual hire (i.e. not in the same city as a USDC) would you want to travel to DLaunch in 1 of the 3 center locations so you could meet other USDC professionals (potentially some from your OP)? Or would you rather attend DLaunch in the office nearest to you (which could include travel or not, depending where you live) with professionals across all 7 talent models?

I’m just throwing this out there and I think it might be a common thought. I’m a mom of two (ages 5 and 3) and work full time out of the house in government making $103K. Job is not flexible in that it’s 8-5 with an hour lunch break butt in chair in the office work. Zero options to deviate or work from home. I have a 30-40 minute commute each way. I’m tired of feeling like the rat race and like I’m just paying someone else to hang out with my children. Anyone else feel like that?
