I have a friend who lives inside my head. Every time I think of doing something important, be it a career move, who I date, where I live, I think: what will he think of that? I’m basing so much of what I do off how he will perceive it. I try to fight and ignore it but it’s agonizing and I don’t know how to let it go. We don’t even live in the same country anymore and don’t speak regularly, but we were close throughout high school and college.

I’d like to preface this post with saying I was in a very toxic relationship previously. I went to therapy, healed myself, and now feel I have found someone very healthy. Why does it seem like most husbands get super deep into an extremely time-consuming hobby, like triathlons or golf, just when their wife is pregnant or shortly after the baby is born? This has happened to me and 5 of my girlfriends. The timing is suspicious.

I accidentally overshared information about having anxiety and trouble focusing with someone who is kind of important at the company and now I regret it. I am interviewing for a new IT Manager position. I started putting out soft feelers and then hit the hunt harder. The problem: I have one offer and need to give an answer by next Wednesday. I have two other opportunities that are in final steps but probably won’t have offers by next Wednesday. Both of the other offers will be higher pay but clearly are uncertain for offers. Do I accept the offer I have, which is a good one or wait for the other two to finalize and possibly miss out altogether?
